Suggestion and Update Thread

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I don't know how hard it would be to do, but what about a feature where if someone mentioned a cow's name/nickname it automatically inserted a link to their primary thread? It seems like it would make it a bit easier for people to find cows they might be interested since it would come up in any conversation they were having.
 
Make audio level adjustments Global, or at least have them stick within a thread if possible.
Maybe just add a toggle for either somewhere under preferences.
I forget to redo them every once in a while when i click on a new clip, which sometimes subjects me to extremely noisy surprises.
Happens especially often if its in the thread of one of the usually louder cows, like Ethan Ralph for example.

Would it be too much to request a temporary tab in general live chat for Fishtank.live? The thread is basically a running commentary, there's a lot going on and it moves very quickly.
 
The Deutsch chat is very boring, it's purely for German, it's the default chat for Internationale Clique and it's a shitposting chat anyway.

So how about renaming it to "Tower of Babel" and dedicating it for talking in multiple languages at once? It would be way more fun.

Stinkditch should probably not even be a Salon subforum period. It doesn't revolve around lifestyle shit like fashion or deathfat behaviour barring a few cows.
Speaking of the Ditch, I think it's about time to merge the whole Rat King subforum into it. The King is very much non-functional at this point and most cows that are active and featured in that subforum feel like they belong in the Ditch.

I think it's time we got new kiwi centric emojis and icons, the ones we have are incredibly out of date and we could benefit for having new ones for all the major cows, I'm shocked we haven't gotten any Keffals or Nick avocado emojis for example. Whoever has any experience with sprite work and photoshop could easily rustle up a few new icons without much effort make it happen @Null.
 
Please consider installing an Intel QuickAssist card in your server, and routing your SSL handshakes to it using NGINX.

You reported on either telegram or some other channels that the most recent attacks were SSL handshake exhaustion attacks. Using a custom ASIC to handle your handshakes like a QuickAssist card will take the load of handshakes off the processor.

The ssl handshake was just a side effective of other timeouts. Also, I use AMD.
 
The Onion-Location response header advertises a URL starting with http://. I suggest this be changed to https://.

For your own software your working on a suggestion I would have for quality of life in wokring on OPs is when scrolling through attachments a quick button to get to beginning or end of the line of attached files.

If it hasn't been suggested already or is too hard for technical reasons, would it be possible to add an automatic remap of KiwiFarms URL's to the respective domain you're on? E.g, kiwifarms.st, kiwifarms.net or kiwifarms.ru get converted to kiwifarmsaaf4t2h7gc3dfc5ojhmqruw2nit3uejrpiagrxeuxiyxcyd.onion if you are on TOR. There are a ton of dead links on some threads or links that take you to .net (which is a broken page at the moment), and it would be nice to have them automatically changed.
