Suggestion and Update Thread

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Is there any way to add a confirmation window/popup to the community happenings thread so people realize that's the one they're about to reply to before posting? I know the thread has a notice but it still happens pretty often and adding a simple barrier like that would ideally reduce the number of non-happening posts people (presumably) mistakenly make.

People post the stupidest, TMI, and most embarrassing things in sneed-chat.
If anyone could "CTRL+F" through the history of it, stupid people would be dissuaded from proclaiming that they're lonely faggots who do embarrassing things.

I know you're sick of sticker notification talk but I was wondering, is it worth disabling them by default for new accounts to somewhat reduce the database spam? New users would never have known any different so they won't have a comparison to complain about, but they can always go and enable them.

Since they've been back I can see the technical grievance of the db spam they cause.

a navbar tray that sticks to the top of the site when you scroll would be nice, since if you are at the bottom of a 20 post page with multiple long posts it can be a bit of a pain to scroll all the way to the top just to check alerts or navigate to a menu. something like this:

Is it possible to pin a post to Forum Discussion of the current mods and what areas they are in charge of?
While there is a staff list under users it doesn't tell you who is in charge of say off topic sections, but instead only hyper specific things like beauty parlor or thunderdome.

could there be a way to turn off notifications for reactions (like, dislike, agree, disagree, etc)?

these random spam accounts that just do nothing but rate every single post as autistic or dumb or whatever it gets really annoying especially when I get 500 notifications from people like " fuck niggers" and " Hitler", and then you just see that there are new account that that hasn't posted or said anything, and you're just sitting here. wondering why am I being bothered with their notifications?

It makes me not want to post because I just don't want to have a billion fucking messages when I wake up.

Worth pointing out Sharty skids are the ones doing it. Unless it starts to get funny, just disable stickers for new accounts.

I'd really appreciate a better advanced faceted search in the forum rewrite, specifically one with a multi-select of different forums or categories, tag search built into the main advanced search, possibly a typeahead media search for attachment filenames like the user lookup, and more ordering options, e.g., alphabetical by title or author. I often find myself trying to link posts containing specific media, such as a dirty old criminal repeatedly sexually assaulting a pornstar in front of her flaccid boyfriend, but such damning clips can be hard to reference in time.

Clicking the advanced search button could also retain the option to search only the thread you came from, which in this case returned no results for "advanced search" and is a very useful feature. More generally, I think there's innovative value in implementing some wiki features given the site's origin as being adjacent to the CWCki. Thanks for your hard work in all respects.

Useful_Mistake is in charge of Food and Music, report posts repeatedly and often, target turnaround time is ~15 minutes so if you don't get a reply report it again
Crunklord is CEO of Bidness, don't bother him unless you have an insider nugget from WallStreetBets(or you beat his TempleOS games)
nothing else requires moderation and globals sweep it up when there's a rare spill
