As it stands anything related to pen and paper RPGs, tabletop wargames, board games, and other non-video gaming is relegated to the video game subforum. Whenever I post something RPG related there I feel a little awkward about it, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. In addition, I think the general gaming stuff would get more traffic if people knew that it existed, but as it stands you basically have to be "in the know" or just go to Video Games for unrelated reasons to know that there's threads for other types of games there.
What I propose is a name change from "Video Games" to "Gaming". A lot of video gamers use the word "gaming" to exclusively refer to video gaming anyway, and the new name would I think encourage more people to post stuff related to other games.
Alternatively you could also open a new subforum called Other Games (or something better that someone else comes up with). I honestly think that if you combine what we have now in Video Games with the increased interest that a new subforum would bring, the gaming community here would post enough content to justify our own subforum. We already have threads about RPGs, board games, and miniatures games, and that's with the only way of discussing them being piggybacking on another subforum. I know I'd post more stuff if I wasn't conscious of not wanting to completely clutter up Video Games.
Just my thoughts on the matter.
