I like he didn't even bother bringing up the sales of Smash 64 and Melee, the ones with no third-party content (the proximity mine and cloaking device doesn't count as third party because Rare was a Nintendo partner back then).

He knows that guest characters have been a thing in fighting games for a long time right? Soul Calibur over the years has had: Link, 3 Star Wars characters, Heihachi (old guy with the pointy hair from Tekken), Ezio, and Geralt of Rivia. Tekken 7’s marketing is more or less based around it, to the point where a 3d game with a radically different control scheme has a more faithful version of Akuma in it than the current iteration of Street Fighter. Considering Nintendo subcontracted the people that makes those 2 franchises for Smash 4....

I’d be surprised if she’s wasn’t, all things considered. Her getting into 4 generated a metric tonne of hype outside of the autistic circles this thread covers, and Bayonetta 3 is coming to the Switch as an exclusive.
