Super Smash Bros. Melee - for the Nintendo GameCube

My biggest beef with modern smash is the large number of 'tourism' stages. Stages like Northern Crater where it's just a basic bitch platform with an mp4 playing in the background. Despite all the work it takes it just feels lazy. Delfino Plaza is probably the only one of these types of stages that I like

Pokemon Stadium and Termina Bay are 2 of my favorite stages. Stages that organically evolve and shift.

Oh yeah you're still a fag for making another smash thread.

If you play ultimate they even have "tourism characters". So many play exactly like one another.

Stadium is great, agreed. It and Yoshi's Story are my go-to stages. The shy guys and Randall the cloud add a nice variation.

eh... this is a pretty weak thread so far, especially since the normal Smash bros thread here had everything people needed to talk about smash, especially since @Buffalo Chicken Sandwich is the only one here even doing anything in this thread, I'm not surprised if a Janny decides to trash the thread or put it into the spergatory some day.

As for Melee itself... it's fine, nothing to bad, it works, people like it, and I'm not going to make a big fuss about the game itself. As for the meta itself, I don't get it, all I see is the same techniques and characters used over and over again in an autistic manner, especially since there are more profitable ways as mentioned in the smash community thread. but if people are going to play the game in the same way, so be it.

But as for the Melee Hashtags, how the fuck did people think it could possibly work?, even the oldfags that use GameFAQs knew very well that FreeMelee would fail hard and wouldn't change Nintendo's mind since Smash Ultimate and their other games sell so well anyways.

unless people were to follow in the footsteps of Quackity and raid their online since Quackity had success impacting Roblox and Disney when he pulled the raids on them (the former with the Roblox forums shut down and the latter with the assisted shut down of Club Penguin Island) or people were to actually raise enough money to legally battle Nintendo, it would otherwise be a failure that wouldn't matter as Nintendo could have done anything like they did with Sephiroth or anything that would garner positive PR and it'll cancel out anything the Smash Community could have done, especially since FreeMelee was a trend most the time and now basically is tagged on virtually everything that vaguely fits the original cause of it.

Yeah, if it gets moved or deleted, that's understandable. I really did think that maybe a few other farms users were melee players, but it seems I'm the lone retard.

I think melee isn't popular here because the ssbm community hates everything a user here likes. You can't say edgy language, all the top players are sjws at minimum, and they live on reddit/twitter.
With ultimate, it's still new so you have some zoomers at least paying attention.
 
Saw the thread bumped, thought there was more pedo shit breaking.

Coincidentally this also addresses the above discussion about why Melee is a fucking joke.

This thread only exists because he had a spergout on the smash bros community thread defending melee and he wanted to have a safe space to even discuss it
To no one's surprise, not a lot to discuss about a game ripped apart other than the fans and even they're getting boring nowadays

that whole thread got a plagued tag just from me. I'm not proud of it, but I thought this thread would have a more positive effect. All I want to to do is down air some scrubs as falco and laugh.

There's, like, 5-6 controversies I can think of involving just Super Smash Bros Melee, 2 of which involve Mew2King, 1 involves Leffen, 2 involve some shitty Twitch chat lines about asian people, and 1 that someone actually got arrested for (DaShizWiz). Then there's the myriad of suss sexual allegations, but those involving melee players (like A Rookie) are weak.

The game isn't going to die anytime soon, there's still new talent coming out of the woodwork, and Slippi is still keeping the game alive in Covid. The game is never going to get the big time esports treatment, and that's the charm of it all; it's just a 20 year old grassroots community of slightly smelly, older gamers ruining their hands for the love of the game.

This whole thread smells like a hugbox though.
