A bit of an over-reaction there, don't you think? Yes, it's censorship, but them altering Mr. Game and Watch's attack doesn't really detract from the game, unlike, say, censoring the sexual content in a game where that's the selling point. I mean, if Nintendo decided to change it without being pressured by progressives, I doubt anyone would've even noticed. Besides, let's just wait for their response to outrage over something pettier like, I don't know, how all the female characters are light-skinned and overly sexualised or some shit like that.

It's a big deal because it can and will escalate. Two frames of animation may not seem like much, but a victory for these pressure groups gives them incentive to keep pushing for more. They won this battle; now there's blood in the water and every time ResetEra or whomever gets a bug up their ass, they're going to turn up the heat by whining to Treehouse and Twitter blasting. Because they got what they wanted. The slope can only go further down. Look back at that thread. "Oh yes, this must go. And only we have the power to make it happen. And oh look, we did!"

That and Nintendo should have never bent over for them in the first place. It shows cowardice on their part.

Anyone that has worked with an Indian tribe will tell you Indians can be stereotypical snowflakes about race, much like any group that is insulated from serious criticism. One piece of absolute shit I used to know had the gall to unironically call himself a "proud Native American man," all the while calling paler Indians Muskogean racial slurs, and eventually getting fired for stealing from his tribe.

I mean, they didn't make any changes in response to the complaints about Xenoblade 2, so I think we'll be fine.

Not gonna lie I always thought the Gerudo were kind of black so I always considered Ganondorf to be the only black guy in smash.

Weren't Gerudos inspired by Mideastern culture? They live in the desert. The Arabic music. The difference is that the gender stereotypes are flopped.

I think you are right, but keep in mind that the US kind of has a weird shibboleth about middle eastern people's race. I figured they were black middle easterners.
 
Can they cancel smash for being a boring poormans fighting game and not cause epic gamer moves.
