I don't even like Cloud, but that announcement has made me decide to brave Black Friday Gamestop to get a Wii U.

Cloud in Smash still kinda feels like a fever dream, and that's after Brawl had Snake of all people.

It's also funny to think that, even if that had been leaked, you just know nobody would've bought it.

The best part about all this is that Cloud was never even expected in the first place. We had no datamining and leaks at all prior to his reveal and nobody even banked on him appearing at all.; it was all a huge surprise.

It's kinda hard to expect the main character from the game that's partially responsible for Nintendo taking a hard hit in relevance to show up in a game series whose main draw is (mostly) Nintendo characters engaging in a fisticuff.

While I'm already posting a reply, I find it kinda silly when people complain about Smash getting more sword users. I mean, Link hardly plays like Marth, who barely plays like Ike, who plays nothing like Robin, who's completely different from Shulk. Smash 4's roster ain't perfect - Dark Pit seriously didn't need a slot to himself, especially when all that's really changed is his Ultra Smash - but it just strikes me as a dumb problem to have.

This really had my attention too, if only because they have enough new things to talk about and reveal that it warrants its own separate Direct. All for a game that's been out for a year.

They had it's own direct a while back but that was before the game was released. Also I'm guessing Cloud will be released in December along with a few other people. Lucas was revealed first a while back and a couple of months later they revealed Roy and Ryu and released them simultaneously. With a new direct coming just for smash it seems likely that they might do something like this. They probably wouldn't have a direct just for new content and not have any charcters.

Cloud in smash is a big deal. Cloud is pretty much view as a Sony mascot and the fact that Sony couldn't even get him or any other final fansty character for their Smash clone while Nintendo can, isn't good for Sony. I think this might lead to a new partnership between Nintendo and Square Enix, given how many Square Enix game they were promotion during the direct. Maybe this means a port of FF7 HD for the Nintendo NX, because I can't see Nintendo putting Cloud in their game without getting something out of it.

It's really annoying when people just sit around and bitch about how x-game is sooo much better than the others in the series. It's like who the hell cares just beat the shit out of each other

Final Fantasy 7 is one of the most popular entries in the franchise and Cloud is insanely popular too. I still wish they put in Terra from Final Fantasy 6 instead since she's actually from a Final Fantasy on a Nintendo console (and its the best one), but Cloud is still a good choice. Besides, Cloud opens the door for pretty much anyone to get in now. Even Master Chief could get in if demand was high enough.

Also, I hope Cloud gets his dress as an alternate costume. That'd be hilarious.

I went to Gamestop today and they had a few Mewtwo Amiibos, I'm waiting for the Lucas Amiibos and also I'd like a Pac Man
