For the first time ever at Evo, Street Fighter will not be the main event. Last I heard it's up to a Twitter vote so it's either going to be Smash or Tekken 7.

Much as I love Smash Bros. I'm thinking they give Tekken the Golden Seat this year. Ultimate is great and has been a lot of fun but it hasn't had the same level of hype matches that 4 and Melee have had in their time. To be fair, it's going to be a fresh game at EVO, which is great in itself, and if it does get the main stage then maybe we'll get some surprises. But there's been tons of hype for Tekken so I'd put my money on that.

The battletoads would be a fun last DLC character as long as they used the old designs. Their exaggerated hitstop finishers are already effectively meteor smashes, although I can see them playing a bit too similarly to Little Mac.
Ryu Hayabusa would be my second bet. Lots of fun move potential there too.

Wouldn't put it past them. While I'm not personally a fan of Undertale, the creator of it posted a very amusing teaser hinting at a Smash involvement as a joke and made people flip out.
Shantae's already a spirit, anyway. As far as I know, there isn't a single instance yet of a franchise being represented solely by a spirit later getting a character slot.

The spirits were leaked earlier by accident on Nintendo's website(Which by now has been fixed). They are pretty much all various monsters from the series, rather than human characters.

Any thoughts on the SFX only Banjo trailer having the boss intro noise on the part showcasing Grunty's Lair? I always figured the tards claiming that Grunty was a boss were being overly optimistic, but damn if that isn't convincing.
Still bummed that Metroid didn't get Metroid Prime or Omega Ridley as a boss that transforms from a playable character like Giga or Ganon.
