Superhot VR removes scenes implying self harm citing "sensitive times", steam users lose it. - Can we no longer be trusted with adult themes and touchy subjects?

Bold of you to assume most of them arent "progressive" themselves and either dont know or dont care what they are destroying

They may consider themselves "progressive" but they didn't understand what the lunatics actually believe and would do. No first-hand knowledge, but I've read things suggesting they didn't know what they were bringing into the company. Higher-ups are unhappy but no one knows what to do about it, because it's so hard to push back without being called a witch. Lots of younger employees are down with it.

It's the typical, "let's be a good corporate citizen and do something about inclusion." Then hire people who appear to have the qualifications and then get surprised when you find out they're complete radicals who believe in batshit ideologies.

This is pretty spot on to what actually happens.

Because remember these same companies will simp for China and kneel to their demands which are counter to surface level libtard progressivism.

If they're catering towards a regime that uses the same style deathcamps that actual nazis used (and were first developed by the british to imprison The Boer in South Africa) they're really trying to appease all sides and hoping none of this actually becomes common knowledge. Because Imagine them getting activision to take a stand against China and refusing to kneel to the CCP.

Well, this was in my backlog so I've had to turn off automatic updates on my PS4 and I'm going to play it when the weather has cooled to the point where I can perform physical exertion without dying. I hope I caught it in time.

They are progressives pushing progressive agendas, Ceo's are people with beliefs too, is it that far fetched to believe that they can push an agenda and also make money, hell at times, they even sacrifice revenue just so they can push their bullshit progressive beliefs on everybody, take a look at the Starbucks controversy

Mentioning this cause I don’t think anyone’s said it, but has it occurred to anyone that if you’re suicidal, a video game might be the least of your problems?
As long as someone is engaged in something or engaging in something they are way less likely to kill themselves. If they shut down completely and have no interest in playing Super Hot Suicide Sim 2021 that's a bad sign. If they're really into shooting themselves in a game, that's a good sign. If they're out sperging on the internet about it, even better.
should've asked them to do even better and delete the whole game. all this talk about suicide is very triggering!

never played the game, and it's been a few years since I watched the movie (never read the comic it's based on either). knowing most video game adaptions it's probably missing the point or doing it way too heavy handed.
all in all I'm still not really bothered by it since it's not really talking down to the viewer, more like "I was as pathetic as you, doesn't mean you have stay this way" which kinda gets expressed via the arc of the character. different intentions, most modern shit does lazy cardboard cutout as a stand-in for whatever "enemy" they want to make it about (and limp-wristed fantasize they could punch), like all the first order nazi imagery in star wars where only the swastika is missing.
If the game completely missed the point of the movie it would appropriate. The comic book and the movie had very little in common. In the comic they killed superman with a kryptonite condom iirc, in the movie no one had superpowers. The comic was actually a cape-shit deal where the villains had won.

Couldn't all this be avoided by having the toggle for the suicide and shit be off by default and just letting you turn it on, rather than the other way around which lead to them removing it? Sounds like they were so retarded and wanted them good will troon points asap.

How about just doing what danger hairs do to fail upwards?

"If you dont like it/me/my politics, dont buy it!"

yea but they already got all the normal people to buy the game, now they want the special people to buy it

Here is the thing...a lot of these "special people" hate or at least dont like for the very REASON that games dont care about their feelings and dont bend to their bitching...its what makes them so appealing to normal people. So if you bend to the "special" people, what made it so appealing to normal people wont be there anymore and good luck selling further games in the future.

They only look at short term profits, it's why they don't care if they'll piss off their current fanbase cuz already got them to buy

i really don't think it has anything to do with that. i think the developers are just pretentious pricks, and they always have been. there is nobody who is going to buy this game now that it has no digital suicide. there was nobody that did not buy this game because it had digital suicide.

devs pls remove the color red from superhot. i am bullkin and the color red triggers me :(
your blood is red
I was considering buying this game. I'll just pirate it so I get the actual game, I guess.
try the most recent copycat of this game, the one where you slide and shit that was teased on E3. i don't remember the name but check steam's suggestions, you'll find it. it has a girl as a protag.
it's literally superhot but with skaterollers on the legs.

If this type of "update" becomes normal, we could see it happen to other games. I'm thinking about franchises that get bought by publishers years after too. They might be tempted to edit whatever doesn't fly anymore in $CURRENTYEAR.
This is the digital-only future we chose.

Nobody should pay more than $10 for Superhot anyway. It's extremely short.
ddlc only has any impact if you go into it not knowing it's a horror game. if you see the disclaimer anything it hoped to achieve is ruined. without the full shock value it's just HAHA PC FILES CREEPY shlock.
Lol you just spoiled it for me :c
