Evening citizens of the internet. Anywho, I searched around and didn't see a thread for this, but I think it's about time there was one for SuperWhoLock. Mind you, I am very new to this site and I could be wrong and this should just be posted under general Tumblr shenanigans, if so, please feel free to delete this thread.

For those of you who do not know what SuperWhoLock is, it is a mix of three fandoms: Supernatural, Dr. Who and Sherlock. Why these three? Because they are the three biggest fandoms that are infested with batshit, rabid fangirls. They combined their powers and tomfoolery into a titan that is known as the SuperWhoLock fandom.

I have not browsed it much, but I have lost friends, good friends to this fandom, and never seen them return to sanity since. Much drama revolves around shipping wars, crossovers, head cannons, and trying to constantly generate "feels." Hyperbole is a must for this fandom, and you must always reblog some GIF of one of the characters giving significant glances to one another... Even if they are from completely different shows.

Nonetheless, there is a growing rebellion against this titan and the rage spewed forth is awe inspiring. I have a few things that I have found, but I rarely venture to Tumblr as it is so confusing and utterly overwhelming.

I have barely scratched the surface, but I have heard first hand of some of the drama that goes on.

I do have a friend who is an avid tumblr user, and is genuinely asexual. She really dislikes how much the SuperWhoLock fandom ships John and Sherlock, especially since the canonical/literary Sherlock is asexual, one of the few she can identify with.
She once posted about this and got some seriously nasty replies, all because she said she was sad that people were taking away one of the few character she could genuinely relate with.

The one friend who's a doctor who fan whose fandom I actually respect is the one who is obsessed with Classic Who and buys all sorts of supplemental books and shit from the entire pre-2004 or w/e era. I guess that's 'cause she didn't turn into an obsessed fangirl only after the Doctors started being played by young cute men who were appealing to a larger audience... I shouldn't talk, I started with the Ninth Doctor but only after the aforementioned superwholock friend bugged me endlessly to watch it. Despite owning two Doctor Who/MLP t-shirts I stopped watching halfway through the third season when the two people I was watching it for fell out of my life. It's a good show (and I actually do like what I've seen of Classic Who), as is Sherlock, but. But.

I never understood the damn things. I mean, its fine if you are spitballing theorys like how the animatronics in Five Frights at Dennys are actually DARPA-Funded robotic supersoliders (dispite there being absolutly no evidance whatsoever about such a thing) then shrugging with a smile, but then you have people who insist that their headcanons are, well, canon.

Unless the writers for YOUR FAVORITE SHOW/MOVIE/ANIME/VIDEOGAME HERE! actually write in that it IS canon, it is not.

I've met like three people in my life who were part of the collective SuperWhoLock fandom and all of them were fat girls who wore silk anime shirts. In college one of them asked me for help editing their novel which turned out to be a ridiculously long story about a 13 year old Chinese girl from the 13th century who travelled forward in time with a dragon sidekick to meet the 10th Doctor.

With that being said one of my favorite thing to do is to calmly observe that Doctor Who is a television show targeted towards 13 year olds and listen to people try to defend it with increasingly desperate justifications.

Everything about these people is nuclear level autistic. I don't know what it is about SuperWhoLock that infantalizes people so quickly and completely but it needs to be distilled and weaponized by Hamas for use in chemical warfare against the goyim of the West.

These people infested and more or less tainted a writing community I was in until I was more or less exiled from it. when I spoke out (about something unrelated, this was a long time ago), one of the bastards started whining to me how I wasn't using their preferred pronouns.

If I was aware of the terror of what had happened back then, of the sheer amount of people into two of the three components of SuperWhoLock there, I would have left and fled as far as I could, but no, I stayed, and watched things burn until I got kicked out for digging too deep and discovering that some shmuck had the idea to potentially turn the current setting of the writing community's stories into a complete psuedo-fantasy clusterfuck that was more or less 100% cringeworthy material, and people defended them with disturbing ferocity because of how long they were in the community. I won't go into further detail for their sake, as I still hold some respect for some of the people there, and without them, I would have never realized my talent for writing.

Fuck SJWS with rakes. Fuck SuperWhoLock with rakes. They turn everything they touch into shit.
