See, if you want to get really, really technical, then he's not wrong. SBI don't force their way into a company. They must be hired first.
Hence listing games and companies which hire such consultants serves as an useful warning.See, if you want to get really, really technical, then he's not wrong. SBI don't force their way into a company. They must be hired first.

Correct. However, the "once they employed" part means they are not ultimately responsible. The responsibility should fall on the shoulders of Sony, Ubisoft, and whatever other company hired them in the first place. Just like Alissa Heinerscheid of Anheuser-Busch is to blame for the Bud Light fiasco despite saying she was counseled about making the company more "inclusive."Once they are employed by them they do have the power to ruin games.
This. We need to be aggressive if we're going to pushback against the SBIs and Live Services that surround us. You're not helping the issue by saying you won't buy Dragon's Dogma, but you'll buy the next Devil May Cry game or keep supporting Blackrock Fighter 6 when disc-locked content comes out. Stop giving companies like Nintendo your money. We need to hold everyone accountable.I'm so tired of trying to play by the rules my enemy ignores that I could care less about what carefully worded spin is technically true.
I just want scalps, if SBI is what will motivate an actually impactful boycott in a sector that has not been able to muster one in decades then so be it "SBI are the literal devil incarnate and they are only called that because they feed on the blood of infants!". Part of why things have so much more traction this time is the grifters are established now but also because SBI is a locus that concentrates and amplifies the general malaise on both sides. It is also simple to convey "This company sucks, is involved with high profile flops and wants to take your steam account for noticing" is a lot simpler than "So there were these 5 guys, one blue haired skank and a man who would become The Boulder King..."
Focus fire boys. We will never know exactly what SBI did or didn't do but it doesn't matter in the slightest, what matters is flexing on some niggas and scaring shareholders. Personally I think it should be Marvel Wolverine's claws on the mantle, it has the SBI pedigree, it's high profile, it has yet to launch... it's a shame that it will absolutely kill Insomniac but they aren't really the same company that made Arkham anymore anyway.
It's a digital product even if you want it you don't have to pay for it.This. We need to be aggressive if we're going to pushback against the SBIs and Live Services that surround us. If it's infested with aids don't even pirate it. They still track torrent downloads. It still adds to metrics. The only and best way to deny them is to be utterly apathetic to the slop. It's a digital product even if you want it you don't have to pay for it.

The Starbound's Steam Community Forums are a great way to see some insanitywhat's so thread worthy about Chucklefish and where can I observe that insanity?
Plenty of reason to laugh at this:
Starting with Starbound: (AKA: "Reverse No Man's Sky")
Tyi (Finn Brice), the lead dev didn't paid most of the Devs and Artists working on this game and called them ungrateful for having the priviledge of working at such revolutionary game; They kept overselling the game and basically scammed their consumers, providing a vastly inferior product to what it was advertised; Refused to refund people after the first "beta" (which was more of a Tech demo, according to Finn himself) was released and people were disappointed by it; They fucked with Stardew Valley's dev by promoting stuff that wasn't in the game and by (allegedly) working on a game that was a bootleg of Stardew Valley itself.
There's so much more to this story, but pretty much think of discount store's Star Citizen but with furries, bronies, retards and space.
Also if you go on their forums and steam community hub, you can see they all took the Stockholm pill. "N-No, the game was finished. See, it has a 1.0 release! It's not that they took what they had and scrapped all the other promised features and QoL improvements. Install Frakin' Universe (FU mod, a bit on the nose lol) and shut up.
Most articles and posts still aren't deleted, so I think it could be done.
Yeah, but this is a great example of what sort of C&D you get when you hire the strip mall dui guy in the shitty part of town. After this letter they literally can't follow through in a lawsuit as the letter openly admits to things that destroy any case they could attempt to bring. This is the sort of letter that guarantees the idiot client would end up paying for the defendants nationally known expert defamation lawyer almost immediately should a case be filed. It's that bad. The opening sentence proclaims how famous and well known a "public figure" his client is. In law school this guy was eating crayons.you dont need to hire a specialized defamation lawyer to draw up a simple cease and desist letter, especially if it's just a bluff and you have no real intention to actually follow through with a lawsuit
Rocksteady (which made Suicide Squad) made the Arkham series (outside Origins). Insomniac is largely responsible for Rivet (Ratchet's girl boss gender replacement), and Spider-Woke II: The Destruction of Mary Jane.
Are they a subsidiary or something? Or am I confusing two Wolverine Games?
You're confusing two different devs, my guy. LOL. Spooder-Man's combat is largely influenced by the Arkham series (which was made by a different dev). That's probably where you got disjointed. Insomniac IS responsible for Marvel's Wolverine (which will likely be just as shit as Spider-Man II Electric Boogaloo).
I don't think it'll review as well as the Spider-Man games do (the lack of blood is just odd for a "mature" title unless they've upped it since) but given X-Men '97 and Deadpool 3 there'll probably be a big push for it.it's a shame that it will absolutely kill Insomniac
Oh see, this is what I get for listening to grifters. I knew Suicide Squad was Insomniac and YT coverage of the game was nothing but comparisons to Arkham (I played Asylum). I guess when they said "This isn't the same studio that made Arkham" they meant it literally.
I too think this would be good to happen. A crash would help to get all of these louse motherfuckers out of our hobby once and for all.Instead of bitching about games that are shit, you could do the opposite thing and actually begin to recommend good older titles. There are ways you can mitigate a lot of this. Kabrutus had a good idea. List everything these people are involved with. Encourage people to ignore these games, and deprive them of revenue, then point ant laugh while they flail mindlessly wondering why their content ultimately fails.
While you're doing this, recommend actually GOOD titles from the SWATHS of older content that's available that modern Zoomers wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole because "muh graphical fidelity". Remember, you don't need good graphics to have an enjoyable time with a game. The gameplay loop has to be fun as hell and unable to be put down. There's plenty of older games that are phenomenal and a few hidden gems out there in the wild. They can't touch these games, and they (the tourists) can easily be gatekept out of the retro space.
I know it's a dirty word in the retro collecting scene, but EMULATE. Deprive the grifter collector (who's only out to make a profit and doesn't really care about games or the preservation thereof in the first place).
Always, ALWAYS remember: We don't need them. They need us.
