I watch a lot of youtube, it's always on in the background. Meanwhile, I'll be browsing KF or some other websites on my other monitor, and when my eyeball hits a certain word and it registers in my brain, I'll hear the same word uttered by whatever youtube video I happen to be listening to. It's been happening a lot lately.

Rationally, it's statistically likely that this will happen often, given how much I browse and how much youtube I watch. And of course, I don't keep track of every word I hear and read that don't sync up, but the number of times where I happen to glance at a word on screen, and hear the same word spoken is just odd.

In the past, this sort of thing would drive me kind of crazy, but now I just disregard it. But I wonder-- does anyone else experience, too?

If others didn't experience it there wouldn't be a well known word for it.

I will admit, though, sometimes the randomness of the universe really does feel not so random.

People can see patterns that aren't. It can be the a "counting the hits and forgetting the misses" thing.

Also sometimes random chance can line up to do odd things, like many tails in a row when flipping a coin.

@Brad Watson_Miami is a lolcow who built his entire shtick around synchronicity, numerology and just a fuckton of plain weird delusions of grandeur, where he claims to be Einstein, Lincoln and Jesus reincarnated.

Thanks for the reality check. I appreciate it.
