  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
I saw one where Alec Guinness read the "marine with confirmed kills" copypasta. It came off surprisingly natural, but still felt a bit like a refined version of the old "MacIntalk" voices.

It's gotten a bit better since then.


Intonation's still a bit fucked up, but the warbling is mostly gone.

Vocal Synthesis's 'famous person reads [some well known text]' series has been getting more and more convincing.

I think we're entering into a world where you can watch a video of someone saying something, they can say 'It's fake' and it will not be possible to tell, just like now a photograph of someone doing something could well be Photoshopped and cannot be trusted.
