Episode one ends with Abby and the Wolves finding Communistberg or whatever the town is called.

It looks like instead of Joel leaving and retardedly telling Abby his name and backstory they'll raid the town.

you're missing that other half of the duality, the word for art is gesture, the connection between parts. and that gets into everything from composition to why even draw something in the first place.
this second part is unfortunately the hardest part that you almost never see in a finished piece, it's why when you hear from old teachers "20% of the work is 80% the outcome"
Gesture is the first step to any piece of art, and if you mess that part up, the entire piece is fucked.

a good comparison is there's notes to a song, and then there's rhythm. (or timing if you're autistic)
same with drawing, there's notes to a song (technical the parts) and then there's rhythm (the gesture) there's even timing in a still image, more marks slows the viewers eye, and that's a tool that artists use for anatomy and composition

the absolute hardest part of art is balancing those 2 parts, and current AI can't build pieces like this from the ground up.

I'd say mathematics is a central part of art. We love our golden ratios and symmetry. Anything that breaks it is pure uncanny valley.

Plus, what would be the difference between me adding it afterwards after letting the AI do the heavy lifting? AI just does the work that would have taken days with an irl artist. The idea that an AI needs to one shot its art is ridiculous because even humans rarely do it.

this teacher explains the concept of stages, and why the mechanical parts of art is not enough.

during the first stage of art, you're constantly thinking ahead, and being carful what lines you use, at this vital stage, 1 line is 10, when you draw a gesture for the head, you're already thinking about the center of gravity of the hips. where the weight bearing leg is, and what side of the body is at rest, and thinking how far you're willing to push the pose without breaking it.
and that's all from 1 gesture line, you have to be in this state for at least 20 minutes. and no, you don't do this in one go,
there's a concept called "ghosting" where you draw lightly, and there's this thing called the eraser, you use that to erase and fail correctly.

the "would have taken days" is not the hard part of art, that's just refining. it's the first 20 minutes of gesture that's hard. it's where all your thinking is.
AI right now can only do a single stage of 3, I'd argue it doesn't do it well if it has zero human input of someone even kinda trained in art.
you need all stages to actually make something worth looking at.
