clicking around some of those reddit threads, a lot of them are bait and switch titles. Like the title will be something salty against Trump, but the body of text in the OP starts off with an ellipses and turns the title around into something pro-Trump.

I may just be out of the loop on this but has the US Regime openly attacked the Syrian government before this point? I was obviously aware of the funding and weapons given to the various Syrian rebel groups by the US but a direct attack against the nation-state of Syria?

That said, the proliferation of chemical weapons is a big deal and a totally justifiable reason to change your stance on an issue. Not getting involved in someone's petty conflicts is one-thing but the major world states aren't just going to sit-back and let chemical weapons be used without consequences.

Wonder if they'll still call him a Russian puppet now?

I honestly don't understand why Assad would gas his own people when he's winning. The closest he has been since the start of the war.

Has anyone given a good reason why the Govt Regime is doing this kinda stuff?

I know this was a good thing because every Donald Trump hater in my Facebook feed deleted their post after they found out there were no casualaties and the strike was against the base Syria used toattack civilians.

Huh, funny, seems every islamophilic/pro-refugee hasn't sperged out about this.

At first everyone was. Then when it came out the strike was a against the chemical warfare base and there were no deaths they went silent. For some reason alt righters are mad.

Tillerson is saying the US did not warn Russia

They did, but it was a "If you have any personnel in al-Shyrat, then you got 30 minutes to get them clear." Kind of phone call, according to reports by AFP and other news agencies. It's another reason why a large, active airbase like that one had so few casualties, and basically none of them civilians.

In comparison the UK was well aware that the attack was going to take place hours before hand in a personal call between the President and Prime Minister.

It's also made the French and Germans volt face and urge the Russians to hold talks with the US to ensure there's no escalation.

Oh, and the Chinese Premier is there right by him at the moment, so it's a seriously clever international power play on his part.

That "Trump is playing 4D chess" thing seems to leap to mind as the airstrike sends out two messages.

1) The US has a leader at the helm again. (Hence so many leaders are celebrating).

2) Do not fuck with it. U.S red lines regarding Syria were pretty fucking clear and Assad's forces got too cocky and chose to cross one of them.
