Next week he'll probably do something that gets him back in their good graces, and they'll deny they ever betrayed him (of course, we have the evidence against that).

But then again, considering what happened with Steve Bannon, maybe the alt-right's on its way out with Trump. And perhaps it should have happened. Leaders like that always double-cross the true believers first.

Been hearing Trump might be planning some future attacks against Syria. So I doubt it. Probably for the best, I think.
 
To be fair from a certain perspective I can kind of understand the butthurt, especially if you subscribe to the theory that Trump was pandering to the neocons. But as people already pointed out both sides in this debate are overreacting. For now, like in the Sydney Youngblood song, all we can do is sit and wait.

A bit more on-topic: Yesterday I listened to the Daily Shoah and they were so not happy about the news. Skip to 02:01:00 for the salt. It's amazing how they went through 4 out of the 5 stages of grief in such a short time.

Actually rending an airbase basically useless for even several days can have an enormous impact on a situation. Especially in isolated Syria where getting the necessary materials to rebuild it will be a lot harder than folks realise. Rending the runways basically useless (thanks to hurling a lot of explosives at them) is a big big issue, especially as the main way the Syrian Republican Army gets resupplied?

Yup, by air.

You can also see how and where the Syrian Government has held most of it's turf via its airbases which, thanks to being middle east country also tends to double up as basically fortresses.

Places like Tabq and such were seriously attacks by ISIL in order to drive out the Syrian Government's presence from the area, and their retention of Qamshlo (balls deep inside Kurdish Rojava) has been untouched, prompting accusations of collusion between Assad and the Kurds.

In the Syrian War, Airbases equal power, and rending one basically unusable in an area where Al-Nusra is heavily active? Is going to have some effect.

Trump says it's bad so now the Democratic party is in favor of chemical weapon attacks on children. What a fucking world.
 
I'm not an ordinance expert or a analyst with whatever intelligence agency, but I would imagine though that a chemical weapon would have a different signature upon 'detonation' than a 500lb/1000lb bomb.

If we were watching at the time then I'd also suspect that our analyst can differentiate between that and some warehouse strike that Syria is alleging the rebels stored chemicals in.

Of course our 'intelligence agencies' have been made fools of before.

I do hope that this political theater makes Putin and Trump realize neither has a sustainable position and they actually work something out in regards to Syria.
