He does look a lot like a caveman. And "where he live" is like something a caveman would write. I think you're onto something. Tyce is really the result of a scientific project to clone a Neanderthal. Unfortunately, his primitive brain is not adapted for anything resembling modern life, so he turns to copious amounts of drugs in an attempt to feel better.

No, it was Tyce's brother who got hit by a cop car and got knocked into a coma. After he came out of his coma, he was brain damaged, and that's why Tyce lost all ambition.
