Honestly I'm not fond of AMMO paints either, I've tried their paints a few times over the years(not this ionic smart shit) and have never been particularly impressed
I'd say that AMMO turned it around with their Atom line, which I've found generally excellent. That was, more relevantly to this mess, also another marketing flub with Ionic - the name itself is a last-minute change, where they were to be sold as Atom Smart Paints until the last minute, as a spin on the line focused more on brush painting than airbrushing (although I'd say that regular Atom paints are still pretty solid for hand-painting; haven't tried Ionic for comparison).

I think there was some additional stupidity with the Ionic paints only releasing in the US while Atom didn't do so for a while or something like that. It's all very consistent with your portrayal of Big Child having no idea what they're doing and Ammo stumbled through barely more competent. Interested to see what the courts have to say.
whatever "smart" is supposed to mean, near as I can tell it's just an acrylic gouache
I assume they'd use that in the marketing if that were the case (although perhaps that would be expecting too much of the gamer audience); they're just sold as regular acrylics.

Yeah I had seen some weird shit going on with influencers getting them, marketing at conventions, etc for a while. And now of course the site is down, and there is likely a legal slapfight going to happen behind the scenes.

The hobby marketing is so fucking annoying at times. Just say what you mean, rather than trying to invent new verbiage to trademark that no one will give a crap about in a year anyway. Just because GW has to name all of their paints Trademarkium Blue and what not, doesn't mean everyone else has to, but then the moment a company attempts to use real terminology they jack the price up even further as if it's a "premium" product(like Kimera) when they're getting the same shit from the same chemical suppliers that the larger companies do anyway.

It's such a stark difference between the art world, where you get not only the name but the actual pigment(s) in the paint most of the time and hobby paints, where you need Stahly's charts to have even a vague idea of how any given paint will look out of the pot, even aside from all of the gimmick properties.

Even this ionic smart paint shit fucks up the naming. There's a phthalo blue, but doesn't indicate if it's the red shade or green shade which is two different pigments(I think there might actually be 2 versions of the green shade) defeating the whole purpose of even naming it that, and then everything else in the line is daemonfucker pink, arcanomagic blue, toad slime green, or whatever the hell else nonsense names we normally get.

Ah yes, because even if GW gave a shit they're going to be able to just pick a venue in another country, even though all of the decisions and arrangements for this probably would have been made probably a year ago by now and should instead just flush hundreds of thousands of dollars down the toilet.

This is the third year they've run the event, and it's been in Atlanta both prior times too. They probably made their initial arrangements in 2022 or earlier, assuming it's been the same venue. That said, if they did leave the US, it would probably be to their home turf in Old Blighty, which can't be much more appealing to troon-lovers.

He would have known where world's was being held yet he decided to participate regardless. This is as performative as performative gets and with this I hope GW contacts the guy who came second and offers them a spot in your place because that would be funny.

It's perhaps a long time since I last saw a hobby video but I have never heard of either of them.

So near as I can tell, WTC has covered partial flight expenses for some events, not all of them. The 2024 warmaster GT offered to cover up to half of flight expenses from EU to Atlanta if enough people attended, the 2025 warmaster GT does not.

And even the Belgian Open 2025 that this person presumably won the ticket from

So it's entirely possible this guy is just broke and can't fucking afford it, and decided to make a spectacle out of it instead.

edit: Actually the 40k 2025 Belgian Open is in August, since this was an AoS event it was likely even smaller and not covering any part of the travel either. Regardless, it's entirely fucking performative. Ok, I did find the specific tournament
Yeah there's no chance a tournament where only 24/72 people actually signed up and attended, would be fronting any fucking travel costs. I'm actually surprised they were even a golden ticket event to begin with considering how low the participation was.

He will get a sugar rush of likes for two days, then everyone will forget about it as the new thing comes along, and Quientin C. Dubus will go back to being an even bigger nonentity. He blew his chance for a handful of worthless asspats.

What's obnoxious is not these losers losing out (that's a plus), it's them harrassing normal people for not supporting their gay purity crusades.

Man really living up to the character name and letting the galaxy burn around him.

I don't know, seems more like Perturabo getting fed up and leaving to me.

Also the idiot removed a discord mod that seemed to be attempting to do something... of course anyone with a brain would dislike removing them. You can't keep your community without gatekeeping, and you can't gatekeep without kicking unwanted people out. It's not complicated.

Aside from Bumpfag (who "recently" had his favorite pseudonym figured out (deviantart), (reddit), (tumblr), (twitter)), there is another obsessed freak on /tg/ with similar interests and ritualposting behavior who is much more obviously malicious. Did I say tg? I mean that this anon (or should I say "Frustraturnity" or "TheHilariousWalrus", definitely with more alts) is also doing this same routine on /tv/, /his/, and /x/.

"I've said this a few times, but this troll is essentially a /pol/tard new atheist, which is one of the funniest combinations imaginable"
The other magic faggot goes into any thread dealing with the concept of magic and restarts the same routine monologue in the thread's lifetime, which is something like "magic and science are the same thing, even in a fictional context, just seen through different lenses, but defining magic in any way misses the point, so hard magic systems are an oxymoron and dark fantasy is the master race". Essentially the opposite to Bumpfag including the feigned interest in genre fiction (both of these fags, Literary Lord and Frustraturnity, are ritualposters, and ritualposters only use their topics of choice as justifications for their addiction to the board software).

He breaks this up into a scripted argument with innocent anons, samefagging along the way, instead of writing an article or meme that he can post everywhere to explain his complete philosophy with greater success. That mean that he doesn't endlessly repost the same images in the proud tradition of all obsessed faggots:

Moreover, because of his commitment to an eternity of the same argument, he has catchphrases that are hardwired into his muscle memory as much as the reddit spacing, which you can copy into the search form of an archive to other threads where he's throwing breadcrumbs of his philosophy at anon. Because he refuses to bring them together like an intellectual or noteworthy schizophrenic, we can compile them on our own terms with the refutation included. It is a responsibility to spare anons from another second with him by showing that 1) he has a long history of this shit, 2) there will never be a productive conversation with him, 3) he is WRONG.

I am predicting that some of you are about to object that he shares your opinions, proving that he is 'based and redpilled', and that he admits to using reverse psychology to necromance the argument so I must just be contrarian.

You would be wrong. He says that there is no definition of 'magic' except for a narrow anthropological definition, which is only useful for the 'out of universe' view of a belief in magic, never for the belief in magic itself. Every belief in magic has to have it defined as something, in any age, by any practice, in order to believe in it. Of course his forced catchphrase would beg to differ.
1747036725202.webp

(Translation: It is a disservice to magic to entertain its existence in any way.)

"So he wants us to use a certain word for our spell-casters other than magic, to show that they're scientific creations?" No, that's how you get a hard magic system and he hates those. This is why he doesn't explain his worldview in one piece, because it is deliberately chimerical to distance itself from anyone with a real worldview (or from any story that doesn't embrace Martin or Brucatto style postmodernist occult atheism), so that he can always condescend to anyone who has figured out the logical conclusion of whatever he's saying. Postmodernists and schizophrenics, but I repeat myself, don't talk to communicate but to attack others as an assertion of their superiority. Everything that I have reposted, or are about to repost, was posted with that hostile intent and it matters to let other people know about it.

Yes, and? Sounds like the head mod removed another mod for doing what they should have been doing to begin with. Clearly the community felt that way as well to have given the head mod enough backlash that he just quit.

Yes... we know this. Why do you keep repeating it? Look at the replies, we were making fun of him over witch warhammer character he could be, yet twice now you've reminded us of what you posted, that we clearly saw.
