Even disregarding any political or culture war stuff, what niche does Trench Crusade even fill in the tabletop minis market? All the designs though can be very nice just feels like 40k at home. The only value I see is using the models for traitor guard that's sadly underfilled.

This isn't getting into all the business blunders that this product is becoming well known for.

It's almost as if 40k could lower the barrier to entry and this would be a non problem. Won't happen because GW has shareholders and any shareholder company will fuck over its customers until people grow tired of it.

It's really impressive watching a company be more inept than Catalyst when it comes to getting their shit together.

I think imo they almost filled this niche with Killteam and Warcry, but Killteam got nigger-tourney ruled and they even have seasons and "phased out teams" like a bad e-sport. War cry is AoS so it naturally got less attention, plus it used some more weirder rules iirc. The combat patrols always were really bad value for most armies and priced just jew-ishly enough so that one 160+ buck box wasnt enough or wierd, and combat patrol as a "mode" alone was really awful. Although Age of Sigmar, afaik, has its counterpart to combat patrol actually be good enough as a fast game mode and introduction to the system. So i think that shows they can do good starter modes, they just dont do it with 40k because theres enough retarded paypigs to not have sensible beginner niches

All these "alternative games" and DOA products made by inept trannies who can't deliver, when Necromunda Community Edition and old Mordheim are available for free and you can use whatever cool miniatures/house rules you want. All you need is one (1) real life friend and you can actually have fun without having to deal with socially inept autists in the heckin FLGS, or bullshit tournament rules cycles imposed by faceless profiteering corporations. What's the point in following new games if they're always shitshows with horrible rules, no balance and get cycled out with new editions every five years?

Basically this. Trench Crusade isn't even close to filling the same niche as 40k. Kill Team and Warcry on the other hand are both the same "here's your army in a box" but hilariously it doesn't even do that as well as KT due to having a bunch of extra crap to still buy. And of course GW killed Warcry in an attempt to replace it with Underworlds that no one gives a shit about.

That works if there's a community that exists in your area playing those games.
All you need is one (1) real life friend and you can actually have fun
That can work for a bit, but it also gets fucking boring playing against the same person with the same army/team/squad/etc. every week or two unless you and your couple of friends happen to own a pile of different armies for these games and can actually mix things up every once in a while. But even if it's a couple of different armies everyone has, playing against the same person over and over gets boring really fast.

If you actually participate in your local community, you can get to know who the retards are and just ignore them like most everyone else already does. This isn't an issue unless you're one of those people who only plays a game maybe once a year.

I think its less the barrier to entry, as @Sunflower Samurai points out. You could get a starter army box for ~$200 but then you need to spend another $200-300 to get all the add-on units to make it actually playable and probably another $500+ if you want something you could actually take to a tourney.

Plus while its "army in a box" unless you want the same game over and over, you need multiple boxes.

Anyway, all of this drifts from the point that Troonch Crusade's promise was 40K but you can print out the 800 Heretic cannon fodders you need for your dream army for $1 a figure. The Muslim-fellating cucks in charge are starting to realize why they can't actually do that and stay in business*.
The reality is not living up to the dream.

*I'd argue that they could. If they actually had a product to sell and not just an idea, they could very likely have the base sculpt STLs and rules out there for free (free because their millions of kickstarter dollars paid for it), build the community, and then make enough money to cover a small business's Opex by commissioning and selling "special edition" models and having special units (or even just specialized gear sprues) and - again, because they had their operations bootstrapped but too much kickstarter dosh - make a modest income shitting on GamesWorkshit..
But that would not support the "business" that they have become accustomed to.

Can we see some pics?

1000022241.png

They took some chunks out of the waist pack on this one.

1000022244.png

They scratched up the shield pretty good on this guy.

1000022245.png

Sticky uncured spot on the knee armor and some pretty noticeable print lines.

1000022243.png

Absolutely no idea what the deal is here, but three of the infantry guys were the lighter matte color like on the left and the fourth one was shinier and darker. I don't know if that means they were using a different resin or didn't cure it quite right or whatever.

1000022238.png

Right leg has some noticeable scratches from support removal.

Like I said, they aren't as terrible as some of the horror stories I've seen, but for the money I spent, it's not great.

By the way, a decent chunk of the hype for Trench Clownshow (besides desperation for a Warhammer competitor) is specifically because it uses a ruleset that was devised for Mordheim before the line was culled and GW got the rights to it. It's like the only thing from it that's worth a shit so you can just steal that and use customized Bolt Action and other period pieces for this shit instead, since it's not like these fucks have handled their whales and backers well.

Exactly my point. Old Mordheim already exists and you can play it if you can find people who aren't obsessed with buying new shiny crap every week.

Simple, accessible rules skirmish game, bridging both historical and narrative gameplay.

We saw the initial start of this with Turnip28’s root vegetable Napoleonic skirmish gameplay. Yet gamers also want a narrative to go along with it. Trench Crusade had attractive aesthetics and a unique presentation that gave it popularity.

If they wanted to be mary sues, they should demand female custodes.
Female Marines are a line in the sand that I don’t think GW will ever be willing to cross. I think they’ll unSquat the Squats before that happens.
>Female Custodes now canon
>Squats unsquatted
Okay whichever of you pricks has the monkey’s paw with two fingers curled up, fucking get rid of it before GW reveals that the two proscribed Marine chapters are female and trans, respectively.

To take a fitting point of comparison to Troon Crusade's Shenanagins, OPR is now setting up shop to distribute plastic kits to FLGSs, starting with their not-necrons and OC donut steel space lizardmen
Both factions were/are still available as STL and the now successful crowdfunding campaign (519,662.59 USD) outright gave you both the physical boxes and the STL license/download as a freebie
OPR is somewhat astroturfed but they put their money where their mouth is and their foray into physical plastic is much more generous than TC's at all, Looks like their starter boxes are going to retail at the 60USD range for 24 minis (chaff, elite chaff, centerpiece big guy or squad of them, and character), their expansion boxes that retail at 45USD have are at the 12 mini range with some focus on characters/centerpieces with a unit of chaff, kinda like a GW start collecting box. Im not too sure if thats final retail price, but thats what the gamefound campaign listed as the possible final price in comparison to the discount

Im eyeing these fucks, their discord is as insufferable as the next but the comparison to TC as the hottest new "le warhammer killer" is interesting

Sorry, no archive, this was posted straight to Boomerbook:
And because the community is fucking retarded, when the subscription price goes up in a year they'll be wondering why, when anyone with a brain can just point back to this. The company should have just kept their mouths shut and let it pass after a couple of weeks. So eventually everyone will be paying for their collab shit in the future even if they aren't interested in using the collab bits.

Lol.

Imagine choosing to change your business model into grifting your cattle by using FUCKING DAGGERHEART as your starting item. That might be the most retarded choice of all.
This right here.
This is the gayest hill to die on. For Daggerheart.
The game the creators decline to play or promote on their show with the large audience of retarded paypigs. Fugging lol.

Is Daggerheart even a top 25 games as far as popularity goes? Like how common is finding a ads for a IRL Daggerheart game, how many people will bring it up on their own unless you literally track down your local Critical Role fans and ask them about it? What can Daggerheart do well that can't be easily done by any edition of D&D or Pathfinder or any OSR or PbtA game.

It's a good sign you can save a lot of time by avoiding it, you can shortcut the BS. Super-fans will still cling to it perhaps, but people who want to focus on the essentials will spend their time on other outlets.

It appears we may have a farseer in our midst.
