I had thought about picking up a box of SPEHCE MEHRINES as shelf decorators, but I am absolutely massively unexcited about those sculpts.

Sweet mercy I don't usually shit on someone's painting but this is awful. No actual rhyme or reason just a few lazily slopped on pastel blues and pinks. You could at least put some pride (wocka wocka) into the work.
 
As a big paleo nerd, just wanted to quickly shout out CARNIVORE.

It's a skirmish game where you play as scientifically accurate dinosaurs battling to the death at the end of the world.

So far, the dinos that have been confirmed are:
  • Velocirator
  • Austroraptor
  • Spinosaurus
  • Stegosaurus
  • Allosaurus
  • Hypsilophodon
There's also ceratosaurus, styracosaurus and ekrixinathosaurus(?) included in the seemingly AI generated promotional artwork. Seems like they made another game before this as well, but I have no clue what it is.
They opened a campaign on gamefound which is where to got most of my info from, but it's not open for donations yet: https://gamefound.com/pt/projects/buer-games/carnivore?redirect_reason=language_detection. It also gives you a free model if you follow rn.

Anyways, the only reason I shared this is because I like dinos, that's all. The premise has got me hooked, so I'll probably donate and inform you guys if it's a scam or not 👍.

Shit looks like it was fingerpainted on. No attempt to even correct the paint spilling over onto the trim and other areas, couldn't be bothered to paint the trim on one that one model.

I'm surprised you didn't post some of the other shit that's worse, because someone could claim that post was "in progress"(assuming they have the brush control of michael j fox).

Somehow this person got "commissioned" to paint some admech shit and actually looks like they put a "little" effort into it.

But generally it's just brightly colored awful shit with random attempts at "blending" I think? Or trying to do chromatic highlights but being entirely colorblind.

They are made with the specific purpose of making kitbashes and third party parts a pain in the ass to model. GW does not want to sell model kits anymore, but hyper specific statues for each unit. At most they may give you "upgrade" kit that can only work with one unit and nothing else.

im not an expert in painting as a whole and only used the apparently crappy AP Speedpaints 1.0, (regular Vallejo is otherwise my go-to) but you can see that the layering on the blue and pink is actually smooth ish but very muted, as if it was just one or two thin coats, you can also spot on the backpacks bits of pink that got into the blue by accident, afaik if you have speedpaints it shouldnt be able to stain like that, it would just get re-activated and turn it into a gloopy mess untill its dry and/or sealed
Its clearly just a quick lazy first pass that he just let dry and raced to take a picture of just to pwn on the chuds, there are 10 year olds who could probably paint better than this. Even the Leader mini that seemingly got more work done due to the trim pieces also has splotchy pieces where he got on the pink on the blue and just said fuck it, if the effect was intentional it just still looks like more of a stain that got dried than a purposeful look

It absolutely is speed paints. You can see it obviously with the blue on the far right and even on the others how it sits in the crevices around the trim. Especially on their other pictures I found you can see the mottling that happens when it's moved around while half dry even when thinned on smooth surfaces. You're thinking army painter speed paint 1.0 that re-activated, the newer AP speed paints, Vallejo xpress color, citadel contrast paints, it's all the same sort of shit.

Still doesn't change the fact that being that sloppy with initial base coats for blocking in colors is just adding work, since most paints aren't entirely opaque and having the blue and pink everywhere risks fucking up the undertones behind the more translucent colors requiring more work to go back and fix before painting over with the correct color, more coats to hide, or simply not giving a shit and having it show through.

I would also make a comment about it being unlikely that Tranny, due to usual tranny personality defects and lack of hygiene is able to find anyone able to tolerate their presence for the hours needed for a game of 40K to complete.... but having been in game stores, I know that isn't close to true. Fat, unshaven, long greezy thinning hair, and prone to flying into screeching at any perceived slight means the only way you'd ID the tranny would be they are wearing lipstick.

Other tid bits
  • They fucked up their info graphic by putting 2 twice.
  • Ground classic refers to oldschool Broodwar units.
  • Marines are implied to be primaris scale but they refused to state that outright for reasons
  • Subfactions will be how they plan on keeping army play styles diverse while giving themselves somewhere to go in the future.
