It's called 1490 DOOM and the setting basically appears to be Middle Ages but Grimdark.

There isn't a lot of information about it, but from what I understand its Medieval Necromunda with king of the hill "shrinking play area" mechanics. Basically Black Death takes on a form of a miasma, and civilization in europe has been reduced to nobles holed up in their castles that's able to keep the misama at bay, and everyone else is stuck outside and when the miasma rolls through the only think you can do is try to get above it or die.

so the games seem to be you take your team of grizzled survivors prowling for loot, and then the miasma rolls in so you need to get to high levels of the play board to survive (and push enemies off into the miasma) Which I think is sort of interesting and adds an excellent twist on "downed" mechanics, where you can try to save an unconscious ally but you've got to haul them to higher ground or they're dead to black death.

Screenshot 2026-01-19 112039.png https://www.trenchcrusade.com/news/trench-crusade-is-hiring-a-miniatures-designer/ Trench Crusade is now hiring sculptors to help sculpt future models and terrain. Even after their dismissal of future stls. EDIT: I might delete if someone else alreadly post this.

I saw this just around the time the TC shenanagins were happening but i didnt put any attention to it, seems pretty more focused and to the point, im only leafing through the playtest rules from circa 2024 that i found on scribd and im not too veteran of a wargamer to figure out much just by looking at the rules, but its asthetic seems much less tryhard and more focused than other grimdark games on the market, not just TC
My first thought from looking at them was "Morkborg but without the artsy farthuffing and a reasonable page layout"

Ok with the femstodes news, they did publish an article that said all space marines are male. And, wierdly enough, I actually do think they are going to stick to that. I think that the femstodes are the high watermark of forcing wokeshit down peoples throat that GW will attempt(minus black library novels, but those are a different debate imo since i believe all those authors should be shot in minecraft). Partly because GW well and truly is the last franchise to even attempt to dip their toes into this(or foot in this case) when the world clearly has had enough of the wokeshit. It doesnt take a genius to see that after the reception to this, female astartes would actually irreperably damage the company's overall sales. As for walking away from warhammer, to be honest I think it is a mistake even with GWs decisions over the last decade. I tried to move to battletech, and then to trench crusade. Im sure you all are aware of what happened to both of those ips. There really isnt anywhere else to go that hasnt been pillaged by leftists to an even greater degree than warhammer currently. And even with modern warhammer, there are still some bright spots that emerge out of it. Captain Titus which I would argue is the face of Warhammer 40k now, is probably one of the best male role models(albeit simple story) that has come out in the last 15 years. They easily could have turned him into new god of war kratos, and yet that was somehow avoided.

Pretty good run for a guy that started off as a Relic (rest in peace) "our guy" Ultrasmurf creation.

GW has been pretty anal about lore accuracy for minor points
Could be laying the groundwork for an official model. While he did get cartel executed towards the end, that's not a problem. A Painboy can graft another nobs noggin onto his neck stump as with Blackhawk. It's more Titus mainline universe integration. Ork physiognomy is weird

While Nemeroth takes some design ques from this sculpt, I believe we will see specific call backs to it when the Termie Lord/Sorc finally gets a pass over if only because it's a crowd pleaser. I see no reason to assume vidya character integration stops with Titus

A bit of drama in the world of painting competitions. NOVA, the tabletop gaming convention in Washington DC, made an announcement a few days ago stating in elaborate terms that they are proud of diversity and inclusivity. However, they are asking people to not bring display models for the Capital Palette contest that could be interpreted as wanting to harm real-world groups or individuals.

Now you might think that there must have been something truly offensive, like Nazis burning Jewish children alive. Instead it was a bunch of "Care Bears" with left-leaning symbols on their chests mauling a swarm of zombies in MAGA hats.

Politically charged? Yes. Silly? Yes. It won the People's Choice and I have no doubt that the political messaging tipped the vote in its favor.

There has been backlash from the left-leaning crowd with accusations of centrism and cow-towing to fascists. If anyone can get comments from NOVA Open's Instagram, you'll find a goldmine of seething.

Lmao, reminds me of that star wars ripoff game that got banned off Drivethru RPG or WargameVault because the book had "punch a nazi" in it or some shit

Hmm, it's almost like they realized that they didn't want to continue having a bunch of bullshit political pieces pushed forward for their painting competition considering it's a shit paintjob in the first place and risks people submitting shit from politics they don't like. Not to mention the risk of alienating either half of their potential audience who are there for gaming and not politics of EITHER end of the spectrum.

Gotta be outraged instead of realizing it was a sensible decision I guess.

edit: I just thought of something, specifically about this piece
Is it just me, or is the composition incredibly bad? We all know the political bullshit is the only reason it won anything, it's a crappy paintjob. Also, there's only 3 bear poses, 2 of the bears are just mirrored so it looks lazy. But beyond that, these are zombies that look like they're about to overrun the bears. Only 1 out of 5 of the bears is attacking anything, and it isn't destroying the brain of the zombie it tore in half, so that zombie is still a threat.

So this is troon carebears about to get overrun and then infected by MAGA zombies, thus becoming MAGA zombies themselves. What did the painter who setup this diorama mean by this? Well, we all know the truth is they didn't put much thought into it. But the fact that the story this diorama is trying to tell is such a fucking failure and I guess the reddit crowd or whatever didn't notice, is hilarious to me.
