He’s not Matt Ward, he’s just a YouTuber that focuses on older rule books and is a bit eccentric especially on blue sky and social media. He's leaning into the Matt Ward meme for attention. He’s probably referring to others comments about him and maybe this snippet:

Not only is he not Matt Ward, Matt Ward is nowhere near as much of a faggot.
Also, Matt Ward is an Imperial Fists fan. If you apply some basic logic, it's obvious he got told to write the ultramarines as being amazing, but intentionally went so far over the top to drive people towards other chapters.
If you really want a retarded GW writer to hate, CS Goto or Robin Cruddace would be better picks.

That....actually makes sense in a hilarious and sick way.
Good ol' malicious compliance, and likely a bit of being a noob. That's not to say he didn't put some retarded shit in other books(I'm not going to claim he's actually some kind of saint). Kaldor Draigo, the entire Necrons and Blood Angels bit, but aside from that they're nowhere near as absurd as Ultramarines. He also wrote for both Vermintide games, Darktide, BFG Armada 2, so clearly he's gotten better and has done some other uncredited work for GW since.
Cruddace on the other hand has been there the whole time, specifically the rules team, and likely been shitting things up the entire time. 9th and 10th edition codex creep, incredibly shit 9th edition rules for various factions. The paired codex released for 10th where there was obviously an A team writing the good codex and the other faction got stuck with the B team writing shit(like admech), Eldar being a fucking dumpster fire with multiple updates, etc. and wasn't gone till some point in 2025 when he moved onto Warcradle Studios, likely after the replacement game director(this happened in 2024) finally fired his ass. Of course this means he can just shit up Dystopian Wars and other games now.

Its a real shame they pussied out and packed it in because Horus challenging Emps to a game of Paradox-Billiards-Vostroyan-Roulette-Fourth Dimensional-Hypercube-Chess-Strip Poker onboard the Vengeful Spirit followed by the two of them throwing the most OP shit in the game at each other mixed with blatant cheating and rules-lawyering, especially by Horus thanks to the backing of the four Chaos Gods, would have been hilarious.

What? That's not what they said at all. In fact they said it was a good deal as a 2 player starter box using the price of the prussian troop boxes as a justification for the cost. All they said they wished it had was some dice and a soft cover version of the rules printed and if that would mean the cost would be a few bucks higher that it would be worth it. In fact they even compare it to GW's higher pricing for the battleforce boxes and imply that it's some kind of bargain by comparison.
Here's the 25 second clip of them claiming it's definitely worth it because 2 people can get a team for under $100 each toward the end of the video. And then they make a joke about making an "is it worth it, no" video.
Apparently it is that hard if people can't summarize the damned video right.

Im guessing they started sending out checks to youtubers to cover it again in the wake of their carcass front release, Poorhammer released a video covering it too, im giving it a basic listen and skipped over the bit where they soyface over the lore and right away they spout out retardation by saying that they thought that the resin models were them doing actual resin molds like FW does, and not 3D Printing. Ill give a full summary if i finish it. So far they're going over basic things about buying or getting resin models as if its rocket science
I suppose either people are chugging soy (i expect that out of these cliques) in their comments by default or they're doing some astroturfing/moderation because its pure positivity all around

- they actually dislike the campaign, which is funny, because that is one of the most slobbered on things due to it being a Mordheim "successor", to the point of comparing it unfavourably to 40k's Crusade
- they have take some time to tut tut at how they thought it would be chuddy because the game has the word "Crusade" in it, paraphrasing "I was waiting for it to turn into the Hearts of Iron fanbase"
thats pretty much it as far as anything not lore related, the first quarter of the video is just them summarizing the lore and the factions so i kinda skipped it, was more interested in their opinion of the actual product

The true Mordheim successor, at least as far as scuttle I've read, is Silver Bayonet, not this.
They absolutely did. Tabletop Minions and Sam Lenz both did videos/streams on it as well in the past couple of days. It does make sense though. It the trench crusade people want to get any hype going, they need to do it before 40k 11th edition launches. Expect this shit to ramp up over the next week or two.

It's always shit like "too much bookkeeping" as if using a spreadsheet on your phone(of which there are a few already pre-made as templates) is fucking hard, or that they can't keep track of unit upgrades, which is half the point of the fucking system.
Also hilarious considering how long the community and company behind it has been completely pozzed. Like not knowing the shit was 3d printed is just admitted they paid no fucking attention to it at all.

Yes, but i suspect that there has been some recent pushes due to mods like The Fire Rises and TNO (The New Order) to look at it as some sort of chud ground zero, even though im pretty sure the former is actually pretty silly and the latter is built by troons
To be fair, with the amount of issues the early TC models had with unfilled cavities and resin pooling, they were one of the few model lines that probably were as bad as handling toxic waste if they popped

You know there's a reason why even though I actually very much enjoyed Heavy Gear's style and lore, that I gave it a worse score than Lancer, despite not liking Lancer all that much.
The answer was that it's because of the mechanics. See lore can only help you so much until you actually try to play the game. The silhouette system has a few too many snarls, and technically there's more weapon system in the game than there is in Battletech, which makes it more of a bitch to learn and less effective. It also has some readability issues here and there too. As much as I'm prefer it, I'd have to give it to Lancer despite their terrible boilerplate message.
Now, given that TC is reheated Mordheim rules, that's not necessarily much of a problem. What is the problem is that the rule books are already obsolete because of all the stupid spot welding efforts they did. Also their build quality is pretty fucking terrible, It's not anything like they claimed it would be, they're already trying to gouge the cattle harder than GW.
I do not believe whatso fucking ever that any of them are being authentic about it, because it really sounds like a marketing push.

A lot of modern GW lore changes makes his Ultramarines favourism look mild in comparison.
While I get the "don't put the new company on the same standards as a corporate entity" it still had them be absolutely suck their balls, sometimes to shit GW does like overly retarded lore.

There is no reason to take any risk when dealing with resin. You don't want to develop an allergy or mess up your lungs because you had to build your tranny WWI models. Resin does have long term risks and you should take as much precaution as possible.
This is what I mean.
I'm not talking about handling bare 3d printing resin. I mean cured solid 2 part resin. Guess what? ANY dust will fuck up your lungs including polystyrene and you can get styrene allergies from overexposure to fumes.
