How the 6E player handbook massacred my girl. They made Diana look like she worked for the DMV or TSA. Also, the Dungeons and Dragons kids from the 80s are now canon stuck in the D&D multiverse for 40 years. All but confirmed, Dungeon master was the true villain all this time.

Damn the show had a stacked voice cast, Ralph Mouth, Optimus Prime, Dr. Claw, Buddy from Charles in Charge unlike shit today where it's a bunch of neverwillbes doing the WWE of ttrpgs.

Hey I bought the transformer ttrpg. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with it. It’s the first ttrpg me and my friends are trying

No experience with it but I’ve been told it plays like D&D 5e. I have looked it over and like the detail in the character creation.

What are your friends going to play as? Autobots on Earth in the G1 era? Fighting Decepticons in space?

We want more love for Greyhawk, the players cried. We want a setting update.

Another finger on the Monkey's Paw curled closed.
as long as they leave Mystara and the Hollow World alone Ill be okay.

The only time I hear about it anymore is through the relevance of the arcade game, but despite that it is a very cool setting and I always enjoy looking at my 2ed ad&d beastiary of it

Question, do people still play Drow? I read that Tieflings replaced Drow as the "sexy anti hero good guy" and it makes a lot of sense.

There's dozens of us who still play those backwards, cave dwelling, strangely gynocentric, generally evil elves. Even after they've had their edges ground down, and their serial numbers filed off, they're still one of my favorite races despite the... bowlderization that they've endured.

That Gary Stu Driz'zt's time is over, the time of the Karlach Mary Sue is upon us. For better or for worse.

I wouldn't say Karlach is a mary sue, you can kill her, at least when I played you couldn't magically save her and she is very disassociated from the plot. Shart on the other hand....

You're right, that's a bad comparison. I just can't think of many other Tiefling characters that would fall under the Mary Sue category, at least not off the top of my head. Which is probably part of what makes them so popular amongst faggots.

Did you ever try Fantasy Craft? I wish that RPG got more content for it, I loved the way monsters were generated on the Dm side and on the player side you had a lot of freedom for how you made a character.

There was still a lot of crunch given that it was a 3.5 derivative released the same time as Pathfinder, but you could be the dragon with RAW and much much more!

Also enemies could be defeated with more than just brute force, you could give them grades of “fatigue” or “ shaken” which was like a 3 strikes and youre out system, where if they kept failing will/fort saves they would be defeated. This gave guile/face type heroes a reliable damage ability that debuffed and defeated lesser enemies.

Not only that, but you could learn weapon tricks which were like martial spells. The only thing Id say was a bit of a pain in the ass was keeping track of the legend/life style stats which dictated your magic item allowance but also pulled triple duty for keeps and your contacts.

Haven't Tieflings been a thing since 2007-ish? I remember the kerfuffle that in 4e, gnomes were a monster race and Tieflings were a core playable. No Aasimar, just Tiefling.

But I think any "excuse to play a character that everyone's supposed to be racist against but I'll complain if the GM actually includes racism in their game" race is what young players these days wanna play.

I've said it earlier, but when I was running Star Trek, I'd have all the younger players insist on playing Romulans, be they Romulizzt clones, or the secret Romulan spy that wants to backstab the crew.

Tieflings have been a thing since at least Planescape in the 90s. The popularity and portrayal of modern tieflings is something else entirely.

The modern version of the teef can be traced to the Draenei from WoW and 4th edition D&D, as in Planescape (and PF to) they range quite a bit in manifestation, appearance, and whatnot. In fact, here are a bunch from pre-modern incarnations and notice how they all have natural skin tones, only secondary features that are inhuman and not any huge horns.
