What's the lore behind these and how can I make them at home
Never tried them when they were available but sounds like they were just a beef burrito with cheese and pico. Sounds super easy to make. Way less work that making a mexican pizza clone or those double decker gordia's/chapula's I used to enjoy decades ago. What's the lore behind these and how can I make them at home
The day they halved the beef in that thing and replaced it with cheaper rice was the final straw. That was when you knew America was doomed, when you couldn't even get a satisfying serving of cardboard mixed with beef trimmings in your overpriced Tex-Mex.i want my taco salad back

ftr i can understand rationally why things arent a dollar anymore, but i mean no reason why a basic bitch quesadilla is almost 6 bucks and not half that is beyond meEvery early 2000s neckbeards favorite. "Why pay more" campaign was high-key genius...
FUCKING INSANE.

The only time I bought one I ended up with massive food poisoning so I’ve tried to stay clear of Taco Bell ever since. So I tried one of those taco bell home kits the other night, the soft taco one and picked up a bottle of that red spicy taco bell sauce to go with it. tbh I wasn't too impressed. The tacos were dry and really small, there really wasn't enough of the powdered mix you add to the hamburger you're supposed to cook for it and the sauce it came with was a little on the bland side and came in a really awkwardly shaped plastic pack that was difficult to pour without getting it all over the place cause of its shape and the fact it tore really easy wherever you cut it to open it. The separate bottle of that spicy shit I got with it was decent though, though not nearly as spicy as its advertising implies, which probably isn't very surprising
Overall i'd say don't bother with the home kit unless you can get them really cheap. You'd be better off just getting regular soft taco shells and whatever your goto meat spice mix is and maybe a bottle of that spicy sauce if you want it to taste somewhat like something you'd get at taco bell. You'd get a better quality taco that way. You're really just paying for the name. Its just too bare bones and what is there there isn't much of. If you want taco bell go to taco bell, less hassle, less mess and probably a better taco unless you're adding a bunch of your own stuff to it and at that point why bother with taco bell at all. Theres also the fact that when you factor in buying the meat, sour cream, cheese, better sauce, salsa and whatever else you put on your tacos you're getting a taco bell in name only taco at considerably higher of a price
But yeah, I do recommend the bottled sauce though, just don't expect it to be all that spicy
Please God don't be a US exclusive. This looks absolutly cursed and will probably liquify my colon and I WILL be standing in line in front of my local Taco Bell to get one.

I was sad that when they brought back the taco and one of the others (the burrito?) a few years ago that they didn't last long. Same thing also happened to the KFC Double Down, which I associate with the same time frame as the Volcano menu.I miss the volcano menu, man. That shit was cash.
