I tried to watch the new video and... I just couldn't get through it. I get you guys complaining about it - there's just something off; something is missing. The signature Tamers humor is barely there, the art feels very neutered - it feels like someone trying to parody Tamers style more than anything; it's just gay horses having gay romance drama. The optimist in me wonders if it's because he collabed on music and whatnot with other people on this episode so he's merely holding back his power level as to not offend the normies until he's done with this.

...Now that I think about it, you can somewhat notice a gradual decrease in edginess and signature Tamers flair ever since the MLP stuff started taking off. All-in-all, some of the ponyfag episodes faired better than the others, but I feel this one's the most lackluster.
He’s definitely trying to appeal to the brony demographic, they were eating the shipping up in the live chat. I can see him trying to play it safe with them. I would probably enjoy the pony stuff more if I was already a brony. I’m optimistic that his signature humor will come back with the SU stuff though. I’m very hesitant to say that he’s jumped the shark.
NO TAMERS DONT TURN INTO VIVSIEPOP :'(

Out of all the pony episodes so far this might have been the one that took itself the most serious which doesn't have to be a bad thing and can make a sudden crude joke funnier.
I have nothing against on-going stories and think its interesting to see Tamers doing more character driven episodes but I think the back and forth between Big Mac and his cousin has gone on for too long and got a bit too stale. General hijinx in the pony kingdom are funny but as a whole this series feels more shipping centered in a way SU isn't.
I really think Tamers can write better love drama than most mainstream writers but this ended up pushing my limits a bit at the end. If Tamers continues pony episodes then I hope he drags the shipping out less.

When SU does love drama it has the perfect balance of not being too long and drawn out, having Tamers’ signature humor, and not trying to be “real” with it. That’s what makes it so damn good. MLP on the other hand does the opposite and is way too shipp-y. But hey, if the bronies like it Tamers is doing something right.

I think you have it in reverse, Tamers' SU romance arcs are very drawn out and have a lot of time to let the characters marinate. This is why we care when the character cares.

All you really have to do for comparison's sake is ask what the hell Braeburn did besides kiss another man to try and make you like him. Knuckles and Sonia are both involved in the earliest Tamers shipping stuff (yes it even predates Bardonic, at least on his Youtube channel) but you could easily come up with a bunch of reasons why those two are fun to watch. The same of true of basically everyone in his SU content (with one exception, but that's another discussion.) Knuxonia could stop being involved in romance plots tomorrow and you'd still get enjoyment out of their personalities and what they do in various episodes. Meanwhile Braeburn and Soarin exist for shipping, plain and simple.

You absolutely hit the nail on the head. Disregard what I said completely!

Very mixed on this. Too focused on the drama. I get mixing it up a bit but it wasn't my cup of tea and it just dragged on far far FAR too long. It's also starting to be so far on the nose about classic MLP cringe it feels less satirical and more sincere. The last movie had a better balance of humor and drama, as well as better pacing IMO.
I doubt this will be the new norm, but it did give him a big boost in viewers and subscribers.

There was some good jokes at least. But the drama just eclipses them and made it hard to watch at some points. I'm ready to go back to SU now.

I think what gets me is Soarin could be a character I find likable, since an older man who dedicated his life to something important yet never found fulfillment or true love can be compelling. Even the closet stuff (since being gay is still punishable by death apparently) could add to that. But Braeburn is such an obnoxious character, he's every single negative gay stereotype at once.

The zoomer fusjoshi that helped animate from time to time has taken over and it's just unironic gay incest pony porn now with the occasional tamers joke

It's Aaron. Chris is the og tamers, you can see his name in the oldest videos, but at some point Aaron, who is also autistic, but less autistic, became more and more involved and is now the main guy I think.

The new art 100% was drawn by a zoomer fujoshi hazbin fan and you literally cannot convince me otherwise

I don't know how to feel about Tamers becoming less of this mysterious entity as he starts interacting more and more with people
The day he gets on a podcast it's over

My problem is not as much with him interacting with people more, thus becoming less of a mystery persona.
My problem is that he's doing it SPECIFICALLY because of ponyfag enablers. I might be a pessimist, but I seriously doubt he would've done the whole PO box thing if it weren't for the ponyfags finding his content and completely overshadowing his original fanbase.

I hope the next Sonic Underground episode ends with a live-action skit, where Tamers puts all the pony stuff sent to his PO box and shits chili onto it.
