Yeah, that's a really bad idea. Maybe I'm just a super paranoid nerd, but if you look at ANY old ED Article and start clicking external links, they're all dead. It really ruins the article, especially since ED has this perpetual habit of linking context instead of explaining and then offering a link.

"[brokenlink he runs a shitty blog that nobody reads]" is vastly inferior to
"he runs a [brokenlink blog] that is almost entirely composed of racist rants and complaints about his mother"

But I prefer using {{archive|}} where 1st parameter is an http://archive.today URL. I also like screenshots

Are you saying the template is a really bad idea, or the concept of linking to tumor posts in general? Because the template would be for avoiding broken links due to url change.

But if you're saying that linking to posts (instead of screencapping/archive.today) is a bad idea and you don't want people doing that, then yeah, there's no need for the template.

that's a good point, but I think (while that's effective), it doesn't preserve lost information and is completely defunct by archive methods.

If I may give my personal take, I use Archive links, unless (A) It's an internal link to something else/an image/etc in the lolcow wiki, (B) a link that will never fucking expire (Valve's own fucking website, Wikipedia, et al), or (C) a relevance link (Vade's current tumblr).

I like archive. I have been having some trouble titling the references when using it though. Everything just says [archive]. I'm sure I'm doing it wrong lol

I know this is the wrong place, but I just thought I'd tell you guys that I have finals coming up, so if I'm not editing as much I'm probably cramming for a math test or something.

That's a limitation of the template. What are you trying to get out of it? I will make that happen.

Merge "truscum" with my original "transgender" portal-like page. It sounds more like a general primer on transgender people than an article on what truscum means, and I'm not entirely sure truscum alone merits its own article.

I'm mostly trying to distinguish between Literotica threads by naming the references. Having them all named archive is a bit harder to reference.

Oh, and there's another bizarre templating thing that's been happening. If a section ends with a template without text at the end, the header for the next section is not created. That's why the work in progress gallery of TJ's work has a random period at the end. Maybe it's a syntax thing..my mediawiki skills are admittedly rusty.
