I think it's funny that he says there's not a big selection for under $20. He should taste wines from Walmart and other grocery stores if he wants to find wines for us plebs that are affordable and are of good quality. I've never heard of most of the types of wines he's talked about. Didn't realize even that Spanish wine was a thing. They've got "Italian", "French", and American wines at the Walmart, and they're mostly $20 or less.

Eh, glass shape is more about air flow and smells than anything else.

The last is seriously the biggest single issue. No serious wine taster will do it plastered. That basically nukes any fine sensory interpretation, but especially taste. Never mind that it nukes your judgment as well.

At the point you're drunk off your ass, you might as well be drinking Boone's Farm.

On a more serious note, though, what do you think of his 'it helps me connect' talk? This is a dependency in the making, if you ask me... and another tragedy waiting to happen.

It was mentioned earlier on the thread that he has some issues with being in the closet and is in constant denial. It was mostly Lurker that talked about it.

If his ex Rarity abused him so much why does he keep pictures of her on his wall. I can understand the logic of keeping them because they were expensive but if she hurt him so much why not put them away in a box rather than display them.
I wouldn't want pics of an abusive ex on my wall

Oh he wasn't drinking monday, just chugging robotussian. Phew, glad his drug use isn't turning into a spiral until he wakes up in the middle of some aztecian style heart pulling on his trip to pony land.

I'm wondering if he eats, he's bragging about being under weight and drinks a ton. He claims he goes out every friday to eat and drink but on the normal what his daily intake looks like because he drinks a lot, according to http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/southern-tier-pumking-220947666 that one beer (that he killed and then broke out spirits) is almost 500 calories as is.

This is getting a lot sadder a lot faster.

Agreed. The effects the right glass can have on the wine however is surprising.

My GF and I hit the Niagara wine region in Canada a couple years back and did some of the major wineries up there. A note on Canadian wine, it's really overpriced for what you get but the same can't be said for their Icewine. This is some seriously amazing stuff that they're able to make every single year.

So we did some wine tastings and I'm getting all wine snobby with the tour guide so he gives us a little bit extra when we do the tasting including some icewines. He shows us the Riedel Icewine glass and gives us a sample in a regular glass and one in the icewine glass and I'll admit it tasted better in the Riedel. I don't know what it was but the flavors were more pronounced and it turned what was an already nice wine into something special.

Needless to say we bought a gift set of two glasses and a bottle and now will only drink our icewine or other dessert wines out of those glasses.

He's admitted to being gay in some of his videos before and his husbando in Equestria is gay as well so...

Why are you trying to bring logic into the inner mental workings of a man who is trying to use imaginary science fiction to escape to the pony dimension?

If there's one thing I can complement when it comes to people like these, it's just how much effort they put into fleshing out their delusions. He has some surprisingly complex rules, considering it's all a figment of his own mental illness. Like, he put some work into it, but to what end? For what purpose?
