Careercow Taylor Lorenz - Crybully "journalist", self-appointed Internet Hall Monitor, professional victim, stalks teenagers for e-clout

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
The only thing Musk can do to make a comeback from this is to ban everyone who voted 'yes' on the poll
He's banned linking to other social media platforms, and that's going to get their knickers in a twist.

I see Tay Tay is unbanned and already having her soyboys go after LoTT
Dear fuckface Judd, this is a new rule. If/ when Twitter doesn't immediately suspend LoTT, it's not because everyone you don't like is Hitler, it's because other people who are not you have lives outside of Twitter, and might take time to learn about the new rule and then find out if they're posting anything that breaks it. And if you think they're going to be suspended purely because they're reposting TikTok videos, you are the stupidest little wokescold yet.

I really wish there was a good book or article that showed how journalism went from a highly respected field of work to becoming the laughing stock it is now. Like how did this happen and why?

I'll save you some time with a simple meme I made on Imgflip.
Journalism was always kind of a dumpster fire (there were major articles in the Yellow Journalism era that would've been right at home in the Fake News era). But the idea that "citizen journalists" on the internet would use smartphones to report the news was just a complete pipe dream.

The press are scum.

Unironically Watergate.

Though journalism always had its issues, the fact that it was an undesirable, unsexy working class job kept people away. When Superman wanted to seem so pathetic the world would never suspect him, he chose to be a newspaper jockey.

Then Watergate happened, Woodward and Bernstein exposed a huge political scandal and took down a president, and suddenly journalism was thrilling, sexy and exciting. You could make movies and TV shows about it, the fantasy of a David vs Goliath battle using truth as your sling. Suddenly rich kids wanted to become journalists, and they set up fancy colleges for it. Before long, journalism became a marketable product and 24/7 news would start printing cash.

Yes, that's exactly it - when you’re that rich for too long, you kind of lose touch with reality (whether you want to or not). It's medically proven – in the same way your muscles atrophy and you get weak from not having enough exercise, if you have a lot of money, the parts of your brain normally occupied by “the struggle” of living day to day slowly shrivel up and die. Not having to worry like that sounds like it would be paradise, but in practice it genuinely reduces your ability to be compassionate and empathetic. If you ever wondered what is wrong with guys like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, or Mark Zuckerberg, it’s probably this. They’ve been so rich for so long that they have no concept of what it’s like to be a normal human being anymore. Their brain has been completely re-wired by the fact they’re able to buy (or pay someone to build) anything they could ever think of, at any time of the day, no matter where they are in the world. It’s beyond just being spoiled, it’s literally a form of brain damage.
MySpace Tom realized this and went off the grid to fight it. He could've been as rich as Zuck but saw what was about to happen and walked away from it all once he knew he was set for life.

Meanwhile because Null has to fight against people with deep connections and massive budgets while keeping his own books balanced, he runs the site with an iron but fair fist.

Muckrakers had existed before Watergate. And it often attracted people with a separate source of income going way back, usually generational wealth, because it's not like Newspapers made that much money.

On top of what others have said, the sheer pace of information has ruined long-form investigative journalism, removing the required amount of time to properly put together a story.

Suddenly you had 24/7 news channels, all of which require content. On the other end of the spectrum - back in the 50s or so - there's a famous example of a BBC news broadcast announcing that there was nothing newsworthy to report that day, so they just played some classical music instead.

For you farmers that think Elon isn’t pulling the strings directly I have a feeling that isn’t quite accurate. I have personally seen him come through the gigafactory one and fire dipshits that get starstruck (and a couple girls getting gold digger vibes) and anyone fucking off or even stopping work a tick to look at the guy. Sure it’s a power play and sometimes I think it was a douche move) but I’ve seen it. Since he runs Twitter and has already IRL banned a buncha useless dipshits, he has some time to do the same in the twittersphere. Just my two cents on the matter so it isn’t too unbelievable.
And thinking tay tays ban reversal is a cuck thing….I think he’s giving her more rope to make sure she takes the high drop when she hangs herself. It certainly illustrates the wiki bias, and flushes out her minions and socks. Just wait. Watch. She’ll get comfy and shoot off her mouth again and get slapped like a rainbow trout.

For a more recent example, you can see how sports journalism went downhill when ESPN stopped showing hunting and fishing shows in the early morning, and foreign sports and infomercials late at night. This eventually leads to Bruce Jenner winning the Espy in 2015.

If Musk resigns as head of twitter, meh. He'll just hire someone to run the thing as he wants it run. He still owns it.

Sigh. Taylor and her peers are learning the hard way that Freedom of the Press does not mean freedom from consequences. The Washington ComPost and its ilk can of course make their own social media. Bezos has the money. Taylor should pester him to do it. I'm sure ol' Jeff wants to be nagged by a 40 to 50-something harridan with fake teeth and bulimia cheeks.

Oh yeah, the obligatory XKCD comic link. My, it's aging well.

What goes around comes around. As ye sow, so shall ye reap. Sow the wind; reap the whirlwind... these are not new nuggets of wisdom. Yet the journo-slime is too stupid to understand them.

About the AARP following Taylor: Anyone over 18 can join, but only those over 50 can be full members. Possibly, Taylor was born in 1972 or earlier. Her hands are those of an older woman. I can believe she is in her early 50's.

For those who are not patposters and possibly dismayed that Taylor is now unbanned: (1) why are you not a patposter? and (2) Patrick Tomlinson is thoroughly addicted to the twitter, and has had his account suspended/banned multiple times. The ban-unban cycle is much funnier, and produces more milk, than a perma-ban. Good to see Elon gets this. Taylor will catch another suspension soon enough.
Yeah, I don't understand why people are angry about this, considering this lets her be out in the open where we can watch her meltdowns.

It's doubly sweet because if she gets nailed again for rulebreaking (spoiler alert: she will) we get to watch her have a whole new meltdown cycle.

You know whats even gayer? he did it for fucking flynt

Elon is such a giant cuck it’s not even funny. Since equality is not true, and the majority of people are retarded, democracy does not work and is a stupid fucking idea, and using a twitter poll to decide company policy is just asking for your shit to get fucked up. Why would anyone trust the opinion of people who are in fact, retarded? Especially on twitter, a platform only used by trannies, random trolls and internet spergs, Indians, and middle aged Jewish women who still have #resist in their bio
