Belated comment but no one is giving context, sooo....
She's deeply disliked in online gossip spaces for looking down on them but also making use of them. The Caroline Calloway drama is the easiest example, but it happened to a lesser extent with other topics. TL openly posted on Influencer gossip subreddits as herself during the whole writing workshop saga (Calloway sold tickets to events that could not exist among other things) and mined users for information through friendliness and then turned around and started tweeting about how none of it was that bad because the ticketing site refunded everyone to prevent the theft and ended up spending time socially with Calloway. That obviously got discussed in influencer gossip spaces because the influencer posted about it, and TL started tweeting about how haters were obsessed with her, calling the people discussing the drama mentally ill and unstable, including targeting a Black woman who was tweeting a bunch about it but ignored many white women doing the same.
She's definitely hated for unjust reasons by RWNJ, but she's also disliked by people interested in influencers for the way she appears to want influencers to like her personally and how she posted on Reddit to collect info and was welcomed but then insulted those communities for being so invested that they have all that info. She reeeaaaally hates Redditors but used to be quite active on here, asking questions in subs that discuss internet culture rather than just researching without engaging.
She also has claimed to reach out to subjects of her articles for comment when she hadn't, and corrections in her articles never seem to get much attention outside of internet culture gossip spaces.
It feels like she wants influencers to be taken seriously by mainstream culture in a relatively positive way but looks down on the people who take it seriously and are critical of it, and it drives people from those communities nuts that she's become the go-to person for this kind of reporting. It sounds petty when you put it all together, which is probably why people are being vague, but it's made me not trust her reporting to be unbiased, so I get it.
