I actually think the funniest part of this is her talking about "the entire industry suffering months and months of layoffs" and "last year" when journalism has only been shedding jobs for nearly two decades now. Every major place Taylor has worked has lost jobs while she's worked there.

I can't say this is definitively Taylor's fault but I think it'd be funny to plot Taylor's yearly salary and benefits on a graph like this:

Jokes aside, I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that she's around that age, especially since she seems to have a history of eating disorders, which can age you a bit. I know that she's good friends with Jesse Singal, who is around 40, so I assume they are around the same age.

ETA: The name "Taylor" for girls only started gaining popularity around 1981 (the "millennial" cutoff year by most measures):

Jesse Singal was born Nov 24, 1983, and thus is 40. So yeah they're less than a year apart.
