My country made weed legal forever ago, I'm finally buying some today. I'm getting 3 types of gummies (sativa, indica, and a hybrid) all around 10mg thc a pack. I have only smoked a hand full of times, last time being over 5 years ago. Is sativa that much different then indica? Like will it still make me sleepy, because most sites say it's good for creativity and daytime use. What about the hybrid? How much should I take? I feel like such an old person trying to be hip, please help.

Because you last smoked so long ago, you will get high no matter what*. My reccomendation would be to simply take one gummy, on an empty stomach, and enjoy it. As you continue to enjoy the gummies, I would advise a 2 week break between each one if you truly want your tolerance to full reset. If you take additional gummies sooner than 2 weeks, you will begin to build up a tolerance. Once you begin to build up a tolerance, you will need to worry about dosage, potency, strains, and the like. But because you are so fresh to it, I would strongly advise to just do the minimum possible, and enjoy the effects, and stick to 2 week windows so you do not build up a tolerance. It will probably take you ~90 minutes for it fully kick in. I would eat...

Sativa, indica, and hybrid are all bullshit terms that don't mean much unless you're actually growing the plants yourself. Man am I getting tired of people use these terms, and I'm especially pissed at how the "professionals" have pushed these terms even more forward because of legalization. This is it, this is literally the difference. The effects of how you get "high" don't matter if it's from a "sativa" or an "indica".

For me personally, I've smoked "Jack Herer" from time to time, a pure sativa bud. I do not feel "energized" or "creative" when I smoke Jack Herer, I feel like I want to sleep. It's a sativa that gives you the "indica high". There are indicas that do the opposite, they give you a "sativa high" despite being an indica. What's important about cannabis is honestly just trying to find what works for you. Edibles don't always make people high. Don't fall for the "indica/sativa" meme. Go as far as to journal your experiences, take note of what you bought specifically and keep in mind how it made you feel. As retarded as potheads may sound now (this includes me), take the science of marijuana seriously. Terpenes are just as important as THC and CBD content, and can play a major part on how your bud choices may smell, look in color, and taste. There's a reason why people consider citrus scents like orange and lemon to be "energizing", and why lavender is "calming".

Take your experiences back to the dispensary, tell the "budtender" what you liked and didn't like, and hope to god that you get a budtender that isn't a retard only working there for the free pot samples who can only tell you "Well man this stuff tasted good, and it felt good, so you should try it!"
