The original creator, 404UserNotFound/404UNF/TF2CutContent/"Tyler" logged a lot of the early TF2C history onto Wikipedia (archive) as a passive-aggressive method to get credit for founding the mod. TF2C started as a Facepunch mod before 8chan picked it up to play the betas.


They're the former Lambda Fortress modders. They rebranded themselves early October 2023 into CoaXioN (archive) as a unified place to talk about the mods they make rather than individual Discord servers. Still too early to figure out if they want to continue being a group of modders or to try and expand into the amateur game company LARP like TF2C/Eminoma and TDC/Compucolor Pictures are doing.


Correct. A lot of these mods while being technically separate from each other have a lot of code and assets borrowed, so it's possible this is just another beta era TF2C piece of content reworked into their own flavor. Both back in my original post and still today you can draw a fairly dense spiderweb of connections either of people or content between the various mods.

Very useful info, although I did already know most of it as I watched a lot of that stuff go down from the sidelines back in the day. The stuff I'm missing info on is anything post-2020. Hasn't Lambda Fortress had like 2 or 3 different versions by different teams now? I tried to keep up with LF in the beginning but stopped paying attention after a while.

It's rather humorous that the article has TF2CutContent anachronistically added in like some kind of Tranny dead-name.

Hasn't Lambda Fortress had like 2 or 3 different versions by different teams now? I tried to keep up with LF in the beginning but stopped paying attention after a while.

There was the original Lambda Fortress, then Lambda Fortress: Extended which was by a different group, Lambda Fortress: Community Edition/Fortress Connected which is an entirely different team, and then CoaXioN's Lambda Fortress reboot. They even made a video in order to differentiate versions.

It was originally 404UNF and later changed to the (then active) TF2CutContent handle, but it's really easy to spot when the real 404 started editing the page by putting his name before Daniel's in the credits and adding proof he is the true and honest founder of TF2C. Not sure the point when 404 has gone DFE mode since and goes DFE on a routine basis since original ED first spotted his antics years ago of being a paranoid weed addicted autist.
