I stopped playing tf2 for like 7 years and came back last year. It's true that community has gotten more retarded on the overall, for sure. I kind of hope tf2 continues to stick around because I want to see what how weird the playerbase can get.

Wish @FortyTwo had posted here instead of making a thread of his own. I'd assume he was the same person who goes by the same nick behind the original leaks of Sparkle ERP'ing with minors. I remember that just like the how MLP quickly and for reasons unknown to this day, TF2 became the Bronies' unofficial game with a shitton of pony shit made for it.
Also, not defending TF2, but I find very ironic how Overwatch, when it came out seemed like it destroyed TF2, but latter thanks to Blizzard's incompetence people now only remember it because of the porn.

The name "byrud" (I assume he means the LithiumCheat developer by that) might just be one of his "undercover" aliases, as he had different ones likes "hidan" "Seymour" "Le reddit farmer" or from different characters.
He left germany, because he got tired of what Angela Merkel (leader of germany?) is doing to germany with that corona stuff and applying his new name in order. (I don't know why google says that he's from australia???)

I get why they did it, but I wish they didn't make it so you need to buy another ticket every time you want to do the next part of your tour. Would it have been that hard to just make it a one-time DLC purchase or something?

Overwatch, a paid game was never going to destroy F2P TF2. It was all hype, much like all the hot new WOW KILLER MMOs that fade from public conscious a day after release and die in a month. I liked Overwatch and still kinda do. But, it's an ability based game with extremely small team numbers where working together was super important. Whereas TF2 was much larger at 12v12 and you could fuck around do whatever because of the variable skill levels and the sheer padding provided by 11 other teammates. They're very different games that are part of the same genre.

From what I read, the Tacobot fiasco in MvM isn't even due to this stupid lootbox Australium bullshit (It's actually cheaper to buy an Australium weapon from the market than doing this Tour of Duty bullshit to try and get a chance at getting one), it's more towards not liking any weapons/upgrades you use.
I just only play "Boot Camp", and not interested in the "Mann Up".

Blizzard balancing doomed Overwatch to failure - any balance change they made would either make a character completely worthless, or make them so overpowered the meta would devolve into either playing that character, or playing characters that specifically counter them. Which, in a hero shooter, where character choice is a fundamental part of the game, having more than half of the cast be unplayable at any given time due to this fact isn't exactly great game design.
