Team Fortress 2 Community - A free-to-play dress up game for grownups, gameplay fully automated! Waiting to be mercy killed...

looks like our favorite Gook correspondent YongYea has jumped into the fray once again...

Hate to break it to everyone but you can get the world's attention on Valve & Gaben@valvesoftware.com but they still ain't going to do jack shit on this dead corpse hide of a game. The only real solution is to shut down all the servers AKA killing it or put time and effort into a spiritual successor (like TF3). I'm putting money on the former since even if valve loses one of its main cash cows it still has CSGo and DotA2 not to mention the Steam store to fall back on if revenue starts dwindling.

Another good comparison is it's pretty much the Zombie Simpsons of the gaming industry by that it's on life support. Only kept alive by the greedy Devs that keep the revenue going by doing little to absolutely nothing for the sanctity of the player but to only fix if there's a glitch in the Mann Co store that's making them lose profit.

Why fix when it aint broken financially? Doing anymore would require dipping into the Shlomo bank to pay a bunch of scrub intern devs to do something (if anything with the least amount of effort) just to make its autistic fan base shut up but the higher up merchants can't let that happen. Oy Vey!!

TL;DR Valve isn't fixing anything!!! Move on!

I personally would love if Valve returned to the game. But I would also love if Valve showered me with free money every day at 7PM. Valve can't even be bothered to update their outdated web browser for their overlay which is present on literally every single program sold through their service, and that thing crashes upon loading a Google search and is seen as a security risk by Google itself, which is the website it links to be default. If it isn't DoTA 2, there's no reason to expect Valve to do anything.

I really just see the tweet they pumped out as an empty platitude, like a parent making an empty promise to a crying child that they'll get ice cream if they behave in hopes that they'll shut up and forget it. The fact that TF2 has a huge playerbase to this day really doesn't matter to a company that makes way more profit just by sitting around and waiting, because what would you do if a franchise which makes you relative pocket change compared to what you earn by simply existing is threatened? Every single game Valve has pumped out since DoTA 2 was made to push their own hardware, like that Steam Deck Portal spinoff or even Half Life: Alyx which was sold alongside their VR headsets. Until they actually do something, there's no reason to see this singular post saying "we might do something I guess" as anything more than that.

Muta made a video on Valve's response.

Like others have said, this tweet will most likely end up being nothing but an empty platitude and Valve will continue to do jackshit like they always do.
I legit feel bad because they know their efforts are for nothing but have to do it as an act of copium.

Ever fucking time , not to sound like MATI but this happens eveyrtime Valve tweets something about tf2.

I love TF2 to death but it's hard to think of a fanbase more cucked and complacent. Casual servers have been unplayable for YEARS now yet a single vague tweet from Volvo is all it takes for them to forgive and overdose on hopium

Valve will put in the bare minimum and the community will go back to sucking their dicks and showering them with money like they always do. We'll likely never get new content again apart from some shitty workshop hats.

Leave it to SomeOrdinaryGamers to stretch out a sentence long tweet to a 10 minute long video. Also penguinz0 made a video on TF2 now (#5 on trending for gaming apparently):

Oh now deadpan Charlie is getting involved. Yeah valve is going to listen to a guy that looks like an unkept hippie cosplaying as Jesus Christ with the most irritating voice that could collapse a sugar buzzed 2-year-old into a coma ASAP to fix their broken obsolete meme of a game.

If you want anything to happen to this game you got to go full Taliban and force them at gunpoint to fix it!!

These faggot JewTube grifters are so loath some. Ah yes, you totally give a shit about the state of TF2 and are definitely not jumping on the latest Reddit bandwagon for easy clicks and ad rev.
Didn't this autistic community try pulling this same song and dance bullshit to get attention to the devs to fix it last year and what came of that? Huh?!?! I clearly remember something similar to this happening.

All gamers are retards. Seriously, I never understood why everyone on steam buys literally everything on sale all the time. That's a problem that extends far beyond TF2.

IIRC it was due to the lag bots and the bots with Nigger killer or Valve as the names. The only thing that came from it was tf2 devs censor curse words and patchwork.

I'm always baffled by those people, they always say things like "haha my wallet is going to cry cause summer sale" or shit like that. I never see shit I want on any sale, maybe only three times a year and it's one game each sale, I already own what I want. Are these just Steam consoomers?

It’s especially retarded because most of them admit they don’t even play the games they buy during sales. It’s just bragging rights to show off how many games they own on their steam profile page.

If you thought those Steam Summer Sale consoomers are bad, then check out DOTA 2 consoomers. Valve has been making their Battle Passes more and more greedier, and it's to the point where you can't even get all of the rewards by just playing the game, so you will need to buy BP levels to get the high-end rewards. One example was last year's Nemestice Battle Pass, where you could only get ~100 levels by playing the game, and the main part of the BP, the Spectre Arcana, is unlocked at level 330, which means you have to buy at least 230 levels to get it.

And yet, whenever Valve releases a DOTA 2 Battle Pass, players instantly go into "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY GABEN" mode.

Why are so many of the SaveTF2 people hung up on the bots spamming "twansphobwic" and "rayciss" stuff when the whole point is the games almost unplayable now
That german tf2 youtuber lost me when his argument for moderation devolved into that being more important than the bots destroying the entirety of online play in the game. "Racist" and "transphobic" as well as especially homophobic shitposting has been common in TF2 since it's inception. I doubt it has increased in natural play ignoring the bots doing it themselves. But his argument was actually to ban regular users doing that, too, something Valve does not seem to do at all and has not historically done so in their own games.

TF2 is dying and has been dying for a very long time, I started playing close to 8 years ago and while I don't regret the hours I've put into it, I know that its never going to be truly worked on again and that its just bleeding out.

This whole hashtag has actually been somewhat of a blessing because TF2 has gotten what I'm guessing is its' final surge of new and returning players, so I decided to liquidate all my unusuals, rare weapons and miscs. Econony-wise TF2 is one of the granddaddies of an online economic system, and after a while all the traders with their thousands of dollars worth of digital hats are gonna be left holding a very hefty bag, so its nice that the new surge of wannabe economists bought my shit and let me get a few hundred bucks out of the system before it goes into freefall.

How'd you sell off your stuff?
On Steam you can go to your inventory and put up stuff on the in-game market. You only get money you can use exclusively on Steam, but it's a free game or two.
I actually used a third-party seller site called mannco.store, they have a bunch of automated bots that'll store your shit and automatically put up listings for them. I mainly used it because I wanted to sell the stuff for actual money I could transfer over to my bank since I'm looking to buy a new bass guitar.
