I am glad to hear that you're doing better.
It is a shame, however, that the game was taken over by weird people. It still is very fun and rewards your efforts to learn a character's tricks and options with greater results. If you don't count Valve's two games that died quickly (Dota Underlords and Artifact), that's pretty much how their games are. Stuff like rocketjumping or trickstabbing become skills that last long in your muscle memory, like riding a bike.
As the user Cynicaller above said, there are better and worse servers to be at, not everything has been corrupted. If you love the game and find yourself wanting to play, there are places where you can experience the joys of past decade.
At the end of the day however, the most important thing (especially to you) is how you feel. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Celebrate the good in your life.

Brother I'm fully aware. Valve doesn't do shit about it and frankly I'm shocked that hasn't landed them in court considering there's actual CP being shared in some of these custom servers. All I can do is report it when I see it and not think about it when I'm playing in a community server or something.
I do agree it's unprofessional but to be fair most TF2 Team correspondence is unprofessional by nature. Look at blog posts made by the team from years past. They've always been goofsters.

I'm not stepping up to bat for shit, I'm in the audience with the rest of you. I just think this what this dev is doing is just another brand of goofy, just not on-brand for the game or team. I don't like it but I can't sit here and pretend the old team took themselves very seriously either.
