In one way, it does kind of give a perspective in how unpopular non-valve made effects are in the game. I'm still doubtful the demand for it is genuine, because there are a lot of old Scream Fortress effects on Backpack.tf, hats that have been up for months up to 3 years each. They don't sell, because no one wants them.

Unusuals are shit. Whoever wants them or, God forbid, uses them is mentally retarded.
 
The only worthwhile TF2 channels were ster (with jerma as a punching bag), extv and Salamancer. b4nny would also qualify if he wasn't a cancerous tryhard nigger getting mad about his casual matches of TF2 having silly moments in them. Also Tagg before he became a gay furfag. Everyone who came after them had no personality outside of "I hereby claim this (set of) cosmetic(s) as my trademark".

Why does Valve ask for 1 or 2 dollars for unique quality weapons in the Mann Co store when in reality they are worth literal scraps? This to me seems like they are just ripping off clueless new players.

They always did since the very first day the store launched. Valve doesn't care lol. Plenty of people are dumb enough to buy them. Newly launched weapons used to cost much more, too.
