I lost a good image to the privating, which was basically a Fatmagic discord mod calling bullshit on the dox. I have the retraction

Lesson learned: always locally archive everything on the spot just in case. I could only give a partial look because I didn't do that. The rest wanna bunch of blog and edgeposting, attempting to defend against trying to monetize this supposed exploit
Video about it with a recorded VC
I made this on mobile during work. I'll update with better archives when I can

What's funny to me is that they think these types of people are smart to run on VPNs and Virtual Machines (by the way, running in a VPN for this type of reason would be against TOS and would get accounts terminated) when I've seen some people unironically run LMAOBOX on five different machines.

I really, really want to know what the fuck goes through heads of people that do this. I can understand wanting to cheat undetected on your main account because you suck ass and you really want to look like you're a pro, and the game has some sort of leveling system, or achievements or whatever. If I'm shit at a game I just don't play it, that's how I dropped competitive multiplayer games like TF2.

But this? What purpose does this serve? Just pissing people off by making the game unplayable? What sort of traumatic events have to happen in someone's life for them to be so dedicated to something this petty and useless? This is really mind boggling.

Gotta get that golden pan bro.

Fun story: Several years ago I had a friend who got the golden pan by just casually hopping onto the game and playing a match or two. Selling it on a third party website earned him enough money where he was able to buy himself a fairly decent used car which he's been driving ever since.

When I think about it, I think it's in some part to annoy people on the game to get a reaction out of them, like you said, but I think another part of it is that they also want to test the bots against VAC, or the system in general, just because they can and to see how far it goes before there's an intervention or until something major or discouraging happens.
Some hosters could also be developers too, so they want to also test and adapt their bots because it's a hobby or passion for them. I'm not sure what all is on the bot market, but I know there's the example of cathook, which was used by the original developer to deploy catbots prior to Jungle Inferno (IIRC).

On a related tangent, since bringing up catbot triggers (unreliable) memories related to it, I remember there were some interactions with the original developer of cathook, known as nullifiedcat, before he fell off from working on the project or from using the alias. For some time, he was actually on Tyler McVicker's Discord server for some time around 2017 to 2018 - sometime fairly before the release of Jungle Inferno but close enough to when the accepted maps would become known/leaked - where he started chatting on the server and it then became known that he was the developer of these bots. Shortly thereafter, he started getting shit for being the developer and people eventually found his Steam account. Then said Steam account got VAC banned after that (about in August 2017); it was speculated to potentially be a manual ban when it happened. Other bits were that he was Russian and he had an Australium Medigun when he got VAC banned, although it's not in his inventory at present and bp.tf doesn't seem to have it in their history.
I should say that this is as much as I remember or was as claimed by others, as I don't know how much is/was actually verifiably attributed to the original cathook/catbot developer and of course it was that long ago, but I think the Steam, Github, and Discord accounts were originally linked as they used the same profile picture up until after everything went down. I'm also not sure how much is still left on the Discord today, as I've since left the server a long time ago and have no idea if any of the messages or channels there have been nuked.

Bitch workshop creators are crying because the workshop is broken with this new build.

As if Valve isn't going to fix the hammer editor and workshop submissions, as if they're not going to fix the pipeline that creates crates. They pride themselves on the "community" and how they generate their own content, it's free money for them.

TF2 has a massive LGBBQ presence in their content creator/twitter sphere
It's everything TF2, every other casual server (no exaggeration) I connect to has half the players talking about drinking each other's cum or just gay sex, I fucking hate it, it's disgusting. I think it's because all these type of people are either teenagers, or basement freaks with no job, playing games all day to get there social interaction.

It's probably a problem with TF2 because the game does have a high skill ceiling you can put a lot of time in to, but also because they're not going to be playing something like Call of Duty or whatever, it's going to be the cartoon shooter where you can also play dress-up. Most of these people grew up watching those retard gmod brain rot animations too.

I've never played Fortnite but when that game gets as old as TF2 it'll have the same problems I'm sure.

A new video by ZestyJesus has come out detailing how the bulk of Team Fortress 2's "players" are in reality bots and the real player count is something like 25,000 to 30,000.

I'm seeing faggots in the comments say they're nostalgic for the 2016-2018 era. If that's your frame of reference then of course you'd accept the game's current state like a cuck.

I've stopped actively playing TF2 right around when Meet Your Match was introduced, the last time I've touched it on my account was in 2018 and my main memory of playing TF2 is somewhere around 2013-2016 on various funky community servers with custom maps and scripts, with me following MvM and Meet the Pyro ARG before that.

I guess it's good that I stopped when I did, it was downhill from there.

I remember there was a small but vocal group of people calling this back in 2019-2020 and nobody fucking listened lol and they were just losing it over the shattered player highs.

If anyone feels nostalgic for that era of TF2, then they're missing out on what 2008-13 had to offer
