Heavy is my most played class with engineer in second place
Heavychad, I kneel...

People like to complain about Heavy being boring, yet he used to be so much more fun and interesting pre-L&W.

Fuck Valve for gutting the best class in the game, goddamn NIGGERS.

Funny how people just seemingly forgot how heavy was buffed across the board and went from disruptive fire to "peak and you die". Faster rev-up, faster and tighter shooting, more dmg, faster movement. I remember when a heavy jump-reving around a corner at most burned your ass, but now you basically die.

Heavy got buffed to compete with the other classes that completely destroyed him for far less effort than the heavy had to exert to match them.

Heavy is countered by corners, distance, teamwork, snipers, spies, spam and has essentially no way to navigate these counters beyond game sense, team reliance, and positioning.

When soldiers, demos, and scouts can pop in and out with high damage and then run away, it only makes sense to give heavy the opportunity to deal high damage in the short window he gets in those encounters, as that is his reward for his core skills of positioning and game sense.

Tf2 due to time and the natural progression of players' skills means that as the mobile combat classes got more deadly and effective as time went on, heavy required something to not become dead meat in every encounter that wasn't a last point defensive hold.

It was justified but I remember how disruptive it was. Suddenly the whole match was centered on any heavies that'd show up cause they'd completely ruin a team that look the other way. Now, it seems balanced. Nothing has changed post-buff, you just sorta learned to deal with it. Meanwhile modern esport games change shit up 50 times a year in teh decimals.

fat scout is KING (+ brass beast for extra effect)
I can't remember the last time I played normal heavy

an issue i don't see brought up with heavy is the fact that his secondary and tertiary unlocks are weak or borderline unusable:
  1. only the natascha is the weakest primary heavy has, and also it had its unique viewmodel scrapped as well.
  2. secondaries have the shotguns being grossly outclassed by the banana or the sandvich, the choco is too slow and the the buffalo steak makes me wonder what the fuck valve was thinking when they put the damage vulnerability on it
  3. melees have half of the roster egregiously weak, eviction notice and warrior spirit need no explanation, and gru just became weak instead.
granted this shit is not just limited to him but man does it suck being limited on weapon choices because the rètarded nigger apes that nerfed the shit out of everything in MyM + JI had to make the game """""competitively viable""""", there's barely 800 people playing on competitive gamemodes afaik, absolutely depressing sight.

Today I was playing TF2 and I figured I'd troll the retarded populace of Uncletopia by calling them faggots and trannies. In typical Uncletopian fashion, they called me a hick, fat and whanot, things I've heard in middle school. I then got a permaban for my work. Never have I felt more proud.

MFW I'm a glorified fanfic writer and think I am capable of making a game
Rate me autistic or MATI if you want but you can compare Chet's to Eric Wolpaw's side projects.
19 year old game Psychonauts (Eric) has 111 players on steam right now. https://steamdb.info/app/3830/
Psychonauts 2 (Eric) has 551 players on steam right now.
Multiplayer only Anacrusis (Chet) has 0 players on steam right now.
Chet wrote fanfic as you said. He calls himself the "lead" of L4D in the sense that he persuaded more engineers to work on it after Valve bought the IP (L4D wasn't even his original idea), but I don't think he contributed that much on his own. In fact I know that he must not have game development chops on his own because he's not working on deadlock with Valve right now, and hadn't been persuading other engineers to work on any other projects since Portal 2 (Portal by the way is another IP that Valve bought and then more or less reskinned). Chet hasn't been doing anything meaningful since he left Valve after doing CSGO.
If he's willing to stay in his role as a flavor text writer he could contribute succesfully to a game or two in the same backseat way that Eric did with Psychonauts, but his problem (as you can tell by looking at his bluesky skeets and TikTok videos) is that he's too arrogant to just be a contributor, and he instead has to be the head of the dev team, but he's not equipped to handle that role.
In a better world Chet would have perhaps stayed at Valve and worked quietly on keeping TF2 from getting fucked over by the match making system but instead he's wasting his time making L4D in space and skeeting about Trump.

To noone's surprise, nobody sees this and goes 'Hm, I wanna play this game'

Meanwhile, I remember how my prepubescent brain was obsessed with this game ever since I first saw just the badass cover of the box in the store. And the sequel was a treat as well, too bad Erik had no part in it.

The process of joining VAC protected servers on an account that has a VAC ban has been streamlined so much that the "treadmill work" cope Valve trots out so much has once again been thrown away. The huezilian bot hoster DoesHotter got a 2nd VAC ban, kicked out of the account and the account itself deleted. Very likely that this was manually done by a support tech.

You might be wondering how the fuck it's possible in the first place. Since most of the cheaters are using virtual machines now, likely as a way of avoiding HWID bans, you can easily tweak your network settings like packet loss and latency. At some point during the initial connection attempt, if you are laggy enough, TF2 servers just give up for some reason and let you through. Casual MM ones by Valve do this as well. Here's an example from the same channel, 30% packet loss and 900 ping are used to get in.

We hire only the best of the best indeed :story:

Has the song for the "Meet the Sniper" trailer ever been posted anywhere? The best version of it I can find is an edit that removes the rest of the audio, but the quality suffers for it:

It's a rendition of the theme to Magnum Force that AFAIK was made specifically for TF2. Here's Magnum Force:

I really like the Meet The Sniper version, just can't find a good quality track of it.

As a mostly irrelevant side note, part of the Magnum Force theme was also used by Wingsofredemption as his channel intro in the MW2 days:
