While I agree with the notion that Zephaniah represents the game and the administrator represents the community, I'd like to add that Pauling represents Valve. In that moment, she holds in her hands the ability to save the administrator's life and continue this ritual indefinitely. Instead she sees the incurable madness and decay that's overtaken the administrator, and decides to let go. While hurtful in the moment, this action allows everyone to live free from the tyranny that's been created, including her.

also we now know why scout dies so young

HLX, Deadlock, wrapping up TF2 with a plausible setup for a sequel, whatever they're doing with the Deckard and Steam Machines, new VR, leaks saying they're finally releasing a Source 2 SDK, buying studios for manpower, it seems Valve is exiting their decade of hibernation.
Onwards to new trophies, then.

2025-6 lookin bright. I'd also like to add that if they're gonna do TF3 they really need to do it with the 1850's cast instead of moving into the future. I wanna play as John Henry and beat people with a sledgehammer or Nikola Tesla and zap people with a tesla gun like something out of Blood.

If they do something like this, they need to avoid having it be Workshop compatible. Last thing we need is a game with 1850s characters like Abe Lincoln and Big Nigga running around with a fox tail and cat ears or a fucking My Little Pony hat that was created by a homogenous group of faggots who think they run the show.

I would expect Valve to have learned their lesson with the workshop by the time they would start working on TF3. I hope.

I thought the final comic was alright. The ending the writers provided was the best we're going to get; nothing too grim, optimistic, or anything wacky with how they could've pulled it off. I'm just glad that we can finally place this game to rest, for the wait was a little long in my opinion.

My time playing the game was some of the best I've spent in the early 2010's and I will not get those years back. Thanks Valve for giving me a reason to register for a Steam account.

I got to say, while not what I expected, (or in some parts not what I wanted) it was a decent round off. I wish we got to see Engie interact a bit more with the other Mercs. He was kind of a big deal to see him not with the other mercs in most of the story in hopes there would be a big pay off in the final part. Especially after waiting for so long. But Engie is a soft spoken man who gets himself involved as much as he needs to, so I guess its fitting.

The funniest thing was Scott not being a dead beat dad but the baby mammas are. LMAO.

I'm pretty convinced that the whole 'everything happened so The Administrator could mindrape Zeph for 100 years' was a total asspull rewrite added during the eight year hiatus so the writers could be like 'uuh idiots, we fucked the game over for a decade on PURPOSE cuz metaphor.' So what, his ghost just isn't a thing now? Makes me wonder what the original concept for the ending might have been.

Deus ex Soldier just having australium in his pocket the entire time is also like really shitty writing.

I want to be the mom that steps up for scout and his kiddos. :christine: :heart-full:
the person who arrives
Is the reader, btw.
Either some new guy was doing the writing or Erik got AIDS. This is nothing like the previous comics. Not that previous comics were good.
Same guys wrote it. The comics are all of the same quality, it's just you have grown up and your tastes have likely changed since the times of orange box. Or at least, I hope you have.

Imagine being a slav kid learning about TF2
from Z Wagner PMC TF2 Gay merc shitposts

Ive saved so many of these over the summer that I felt like making a thread on it. Seriously insane community

I never really liked them nor found them interesting. Why would I want some comics about a shooter game? The "Meet the team" videos and the SFM movies were enough character development.
Go back to the thunderdome sperg
I'm permabanned because jannies are niggers (as always).

Interesting... the TF Team actually retroactively went back and edited Issue 6 to fit in continuity. See below:

(The other teams/mercenary groups is not a new concept in the comics - the first guy just forgot about it being alluded to in prior issues, seen above with TFC Heavy.)

Important bit: Valve actually went and changed the name of 'Team Vanguard' in the above panel from Comic 6 to "Team Ajax". See for yourself.

Also note, a statue for Team Fortress is clearly missing, probably removed at some point because they are considered laughingstocks of the mercenary world.

I think the writers attempting to clear up and streamline the lore of multiple mercenary teams is them trying to leave the door open for if Valve ever decides they want to do something serious with the IP/universe again - I.E. if there's ever another game in this universe, it will be following another group. Teams A-E seem to be dead though, TFC Heavy pretty much says as much. But I'm sure there's probably more mercenaries out there in this world other than just the Administrator's. Maybe the two guys Saxton left Mann Co. to at the end of the comic will start the cycle anew, fighting over the company, and that would be the impetus of a new merc team?

I don't want what I just said above to be taken as any sort of copium, though - this comic is pretty goddamn conclusive (and frankly that's a really good thing). By "do something in the future", I'm talking, like, a decade from now. Valve has their hands full with enough shit as-is, and unless Deadlock takes place in the TF continuity or some retarded shit, I really do not think they're coming back to tell more stories anytime soon. Maybe in a decade or two, though.

Also,
So what, his ghost just isn't a thing now?
We saw that Australium literally brings people back from the dead - it brought Zeph himself back from the dead, and he was literally buried already. Could be that the Administrator let him die periodically - hence his ghost being seen in the Halloween maps - only to bring him back to life to continue the torture. I think this would be in character, no? Unless I'm missing something.
