I'll say one good thing about tfs and that's that their DBZ game content were really good with xenoverse being one of the best ones with good balancing of energy and criticism.
But DBZ Kakarot was really low energy, with with them skipping on content off screen. Likewise the story mode of Fighterz was fun but once it got for streams it was pure boredom (just random matches with near zero banter is not even content).
The Krilling and Vegeta Plays were pretty good until the former became fully edited and thus missing the whole LP aspect, while the latter was just the same memes over and over.

The Kakarot LP is what really turned my opinion against Lani and Kaiser. It wasn't a great game, but they made it painfully obvious they fucking HATED playing it and only were doing it because they're the "Dragon Ball guys" and they basically had to. But then you get Kirran on an Animal Crossing stream or some shit at the same time talking about how much he loved free roaming as all the different characters and how great all the Easter eggs and character interactions were, and you start wondering where the hell was that on the LP.

I mean, they don't have to force fake overreactions to everything, but their style of Let's Plays are only fun to watch when the people playing them are having fun.

Toriyama isn't the most technically adept writer but he is still very talented. For a series that Toriyama has admitted multiple times to writing by the seat of his pants, it holds up very well. He has a natural talent for sequential art.

Holier than thou know it alls like TFS think they could "fix" the writing in Dragon Ball like for the Cell arc and such. Any idiot with enough hindsight can use someone else's work and touch it up some to make it marginally better. That isn't being talented. Check out any of their "original" material and see what untalented hacks they are when they have to come up with original ideas.

The one thing that makes a Nuzlocke and Let's plays in general is that you get to see the organically unique story and reactions the players make while playing the game. Such organic storytelling experiences are ruined when said players try to cheat and falsify "inconvenient" consequences, just so some shitheads with a Youtube channel can maintain a daily upload schedule. People don't watch letsplayer's for their stupid-ass skits or the hidden lore or the pre-planned jokes, they watch it for the improv and the natural charisma.

That's why TFS' best let's play is of them playing Dragonball: Evolution. you don't need to be fake as fuck to riff a bad game.

IIRC, it wasn't even that one pokemon had gained a level (that could have been hand-waved as offscreen grinding right before the boss), it was that suddenly one pokemon had less EXP than it had at the end of the previous fight. Not even a whole level, just less EXP.

I don't remember when they talked about it frankly, but they mentioned that they didn't want to end the run because they weren't prepared to start their next Nuzlocke and they had nothing ready to take the slot of that Nuzlocke if it ended then.
