i kind of wonder what the long term direction of the TFS company is. I mean, it seems to me they are milking the dragonballz stuf still after having abandoned it. not only that, they are doing commentary videos for it. now they can make money off indivdual episodes in a way. because those episodes aren't monetized supposedly.

are they just gonna keep milking dbz stuff for years. they'll turn into DSP or AVGN, just keep miking the old thing over and over. it's not like they started a literal content creation company or anything.

Look, it's really hard making new content. You have to put effort in, and make sure nobody on the team sandbags the product by refusing to let anyone else touch it to help make it release in a reasonable time. That's way too hard.

The only path I can think they can realistically go on without milking Dragonball to death is using some money and their status as a very large Youtube channel who has a massive audience pool to license dubbing rights to unsuccessful or old anime and create abridged series for them. It probably wouldn't have the same absolute success as DBZ Abridged but it would be a long term plan for the channel that isn't reacting to their old works.

Just copy what made the notorious Ghost Stories English dub so well known basically and do it for different shows.

If they're lucky, they try for an unsuccessful anime. The studio behind Ghost Stories gave the English dub free reign as long as the episode still followed the story because of the original dub being a failure. Then again, that English dub was lightning in a bottle and there's too many pussies scared to make an actual funny joke nowadays.

It was an open ended ending, like I said. You could pull literally any line from the last 5-10 minutes of episode 60 and claim the opposite. They WANTED to do season 4, but when it was clear plan A wasn't working, they went with Plan B.

My personal head-canon at this point is Toei only mildly gave a shit and never really communicated with them other than saying multiple times, "No, it violates our copy right" and "you can't legally sell shit or we sue you". I'm pretty much in the bandwagon many of their problems were caused by Funimation themselves. I don't know Toei, but I do know Funimation and they're a cesspool of human garbage and none of them are above lying to keep TFS on a leash.

This will never happen because that's an actual good idea. I'm pretty sure once the reaction videos are done with, they'll wrap up HFIL and close up shop. They're done. Washed up has-beens with literally nothing left. None of them have any motivation to create anymore, otherwise they would've done so already. Maybe Lani will find a wife with a healthy BMI and Kaiser won't resort to doing porn parodies of his characters. That's the best possible outcome. It's sad, but it's the truth.

There's no fucking way they could do something like that. Not when you have the cast constantly bowing and apologizing over shit like the Freaky Alien Genotype joke. Even Shin-Chan, which is just a more left-wing version of this would probably upset them.
