I think they're going to reference it, but never actually do the special. In the commentary for episode 60 part one they just released, they talk about people wondering when they're going to do Buu and all of them agree it'd be like that final season of Scrubs with the med students. They also reference people who've said "Oh, at the end of the commentaries they're going to announce season four" and confirmed that no, they're done, HFIL is going to be it because of the copyright issues.

 
I'm expecting S4/bojack to happen eventually. But not because they decide they want to, its likely going to be something they hold in their back pocket if they ever lose relevance and cash gets tight.

It already seems like all of their non-dragon ball content doesn't perform all that well, especially if the content isn't attached to some popular anime IP.
 
So they just released the epilogue cover, the real question is what will they do now? Desperately pump something out or that half baked nu-buu saga?
 
Anyone think that LittleKurboh is having more fun doing those Yugioh gx recap episodes? they're not funny, but at least there I can feel he's enjoying himself compared to the writing he was using for YGO abridged.

They've made it clear, Buu ain't happening, but we're allowed to do it if we want.

I need to get an AI program so I can have Vegeta talk about how disappointed he is in earth's monkey people.

They are two different genres that can't be compared. DBZ abridged is a comedic parody first and foremost, even if its last episodes veered more into a re-write. While the original DBZ was an action shonen series.

The amount of effort and time that went into making the original DBZ though easily overshadows the parody which by its nature needed to borrow 95% of to the content that was already made in order to exist. You can't say that DBZ abridged made a new series, but adapted the existing content to a comedic styling.

Anyone who says something like that is retarded. This is a sentiment that was common in a lot of fanfiction circles for certain series as well. Chiefly it's stupid to say something like that for the reason expressed here:

TFS can't even take credit for most of "their" series. It doesn't matter if DBZ had a lot of problems, which it did, DBZA simply is not an original creation and has to be viewed differently. SAO abridged is the same way even though I think that's a genuinely good reimagining. There's also a "Fixing RWBY" thing that's the same, it still owes 90% of its characters and setting to the original series. You can't say it's better, it's not original enough and not enough work was put into it.

In general those series don't really fix shit. Making the whole thing a comedy and exaggerating characters makes any comparison into apples and oranges (as there is no shortage of shitty spoofs on the genre). Also plot holes can either be skipped over or mocked.

And when TFS legit tried to be serious they made some of the gayest shit known to men.

Because, Jesus Christ, way to make actual fanfiction look like a respectable medium. It doesn't take a fucking genius to say something should've been better. You can give me the most interesting plot development ideas in the world, but you are still less than a teenage girl who wrote out her unrealistic boy's love masturbation material for everyone to read, much less the actual writer. Imagine being a glorified idea guy.

I meant the whole Cell saga ending, musicals and adding new scenes. I'd rather have edge lord material from 2 decades ago than Steven Universe rip offs of today.
