A part of it is that DBZA is now old enough that some people have never heard of it, never engaged with it, or don't even know that the thing they've seen memes or references to is. That and some people just like to listen to someone waffle on endlessly about a thing they like.

That shit is a goldmine for views for a youtuber "essayist". It's why I've seen so many videos of not very old games, movies, and television being the subject of these "essayists".

It's the long form equivalent of calling a popular game from a decade ago a "hidden gem" in a forum post. Its just an onramp to necro the topic.
 
Are there any updates to the rape allegations against takahata101 (Curtis Arnott)? Last I heard, he gave his response (which someone put in a 3 hour video). Apparently the details are fucked up:
  • Had sex with someone who was inebriated on Xanax
  • They were in an on again and off again online relationship for 9 years
  • Said someone apparently needed/needs a 24/7 caretaker
  • Takahata allegedly overlooked/ignored/was unaware of signs of the accuser being inebriated
  • Consent was given throughout the time they had sex, but it was withdrawn days after the fact by the accuser
  • Various TFS members have been accused of rape/sexual misconduct in the past, but apparently none, if any, of the accusations had sound evidence
  • Both takahata and the accuser have lawyers involved with the case

In my opinion, consent can’t be withdrawn days after the fact of having sex. Inebriated people can’t consent. I think takahata made a bad decision, having sex with someone on xans. I think the accuser should have made it clear that they were inebriated and couldn’t give their full consent. Idk what his lifestyle is like, so I don’t know if takahata is familiar with people on xans. Initially, I thought it was a case of “we consented but I didn’t enjoy it therefore I was raped.” If you 100% consent while having sex, and you didn’t enjoy it, then you weren’t raped.

I legit believe that KaiserNeko has totally done shady sex stuff but he did it with other like-minded degenerates, so it's not going to come out as an allegation.

Megami33 essentially wiping herself from the Internet suggests she may have been the only normal person in TFS, I'd honestly be sad if it came out she did stuff.

For some reason, I wasn’t even shocked when I found out takahata was accused of rape. I didn’t know other members were accused of rape/sexual misconduct. I stayed away from TFS after Hellsing Ultimate Abridged ended after at least a five year hiatus.

How much Xanax? Are we talking about a minimum viable therapeutic dose, or a junkie actively trying to get fucked up?

I ask because, for example, one beer is "intoxicated" enough that you can't (legally) drive for a while but not typically so drunk that you can't consent, but once you get to, say, a dozen shots of vodka, you're clearly so intoxicated that you can't consent, yeah?

Then again, given Taka's own apparent substance problems, and how substance problems are often a social contagion, I'm sure this on-again-off-again fuck buddy of his likewise has/had drug problems and was leaning more towards the hardcore junkie end of the spectrum with her usage at the time.

I think they were reliant on xans “to live,” supposedly. I can conclude, based on this information, that they were trying to get fucked up. I worded my statements that way, because I don’t know the full story. I’ve been too invested into the documented predatory behavior of the commentator community to care about washed-up internet funnyman.
 
I can believe takahata101 being the only conventionally attractive member of the team who could be credibly accused of "sexual assault". If you're getting blasted on xanax to the point you don't remember what happened yesterday, you need a legal guardian and a rehab.

Moyai me for this minor bit of politisperging, but on that note, we really need to make it far easier to grant parents conservatorships against their dipshit chronic junkie and/or criminally insane adult offspring, yes, so that their "consent" stops being a fucking factor in whether or not they get the help they need to not rape and murder and generally make the world a far more miserable place.
