And Littlekuriboh is a faggot that doesn't even try to actually research the game to spice up what happens during the duels.
I don’t think he ever gave a shit about the card game and I’m sure has just resented the property as a whole for years now.
I've never played the game so I don't know how accurate it is, but the two episodes of If The Emperor Had A Text-To-Speech Device where they play (convoluted name to avoid saying Yugioh) it seemed like a very good way of making fun of the mechanics and deck types (the Emperor ran a voltron deck, Tzeentch had a broken combo deck, and the captain of the Custodian Guard was made to play what I can only assume was a pauper deck.)
They bent a few of the mechanics for entertainment and used complete gimmick decks that no one would play outside of trying to pull off some niche strategy. But they’re mostly using actual cards anyone familiar with the game would recognize on sight and some of the rules they broke are a meme in the community, like using Mystical Space Typhoon to negate traps it destroys.

He's openly said he's not really a fan of the card game or even really the show. He watched it in his twenties, thought it was dumb, and then made a video where he pointed out all the dumb shit about it. Then that thing blew up so he kept making it and a bunch of morons who actually were anime fans decided to try copying him without understanding that the reason Yugioh Abridged worked was that it was made by a dude who enjoyed it ironically, not a die hard who'd been watching the show since they were ten like TFS.

When you put it like that, it kind of makes sense that he’s dragging his feet to release new episodes. I wonder if LK ever curses or rues the day that video he made took off the way it did.

Full one already?

Gotta milk their new content as much as possible, because they've already milked DBZA dry 50 times over

Someone must have told him to knock it off if he wanted to voice Trunks.
Considering he was in charge, and he got others to pronounce it (And even call him Son Goku instead of just, you know, Goku) his way, I doubt he ever entertained the idea of changing the way he spoke.

I've been getting a ton of Shorts recommendations from their commentary of DBZA. Sometimes even ones where they barely say anything and just watch the clip.

You could scrub KaiserNeko clean of the faggot and twitter shit and he'd still be a lolcow solely on the back of how he pronounces Goku.
I'm glad someone else is annoyed by this. I didn't want to sound like a sperg if it was just me. You're right though, the entire react series hearing "goo-koo" pissed me off.
He's trying to say the name like it's said in Japanese because hes a TRVE FAN™️, which just comes across like when the news anchor puts on an accent to say a random word like "Spaghetti" or some shit.
It'd be like if he said "pee-co-ro" or "Begeta" instead of Piccolo/Vegeta.

Someone should ask him why Torankusu is his favorite character

Surprised no one's posted this yet. LittleKuriboh made another tedious and unfunny episode of YGOTAS after almost two years. At this rate he might finish the series before he's 60.

Why does he even do this arc? It's a top contender for worst filler arcs in shonen history. At least Orichalcos was so badly written that it was memorable. Just skip and go for the final arc that doesn't have any card games anyways.

The nature of the game changed when the shows got away from the Egyptian theme. Originally, the game was a means to create drama, so duels didn't exactly have rules. It was more like card D&D where if you were good enough at arguing, you can have cards do utterly wacky shit like attack the moon or aging up cards so a baby dragon can become a thousand years old while turning harpies into total hags. Then people got interested in the card game as a card game so rules had to be set, but because the shows needed to keep that drama going, power creep sets in and by 5D, it turned into competitive solitaire.

Anyways, I find Sailor Moon abridged to be overrated. It's not terrible, but comments in those videos make it out funnier than it actually is.

This guy largely talks about the manga, but it's a good overview of how the franchise started and why people were engaged with it in the first place. EDIT: Found a better video to make my point.

Yu-gi-oh now

It gets worse over time. In VRAINS, there is an episode where I shit you not, one turn lasts for roughly ten minutes. And it's not like the two duelists were chatting throughout it, there wasn't that much dialogue between them. Just minute after minute of monster effects and summoning...

However many problems DBS has, I'll be forever thankful that its pushing into oblivion the steaming pile of shit known as DBZA.
I haven't watched since the early 2010s, I believe I dropped it around the beginning of the frieza saga. They somehow manage to make their humor more referential, their dialogue more insincere quips, while coming under the delusion they were making the definitive dub.
And with the new DB stuff coming out I welcome further oblivion upon dbza.

DBS felt like it was impacted a lot by how fans grew to see the series over the years so stuff like Goku being a bad dad is actually canon there.
