Feedback Technical Grievances

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
This is probably just cogent being dicks, but .hk is like playing blackjack, very hit and miss. If it works, it's fast. If not, just generic "page cannot be loaded" browser error.

For some reason, once again, vpn'ing into fucking Norway of all places brings the errors down to null. Based oil Vikings ftw. (Having the same issues at present even in Holland, which before was up there with the Norsk.)

Not sure if the trannies have struck back, but KF is seemingly down on clearnet, even using a vpn in multiple locations brings up nothing.
Tor is, as always, slow as shit, but always there like an old fren.

Sounds like your region is a problem. It's working fine on my end.

Not sure if something is happening but I was getting DNS issues on quad9, intermittently getting issues on my own ISPs DNS server, Google's seemed to work for what I tried of it though. Looks like the record isn't resolving with most servers though.

confirm quad9 is no longer resolving kiwifarms.hk
dns servers 9.9.9.11/149.112.112.11

adguard appears to be ok so far.

I'm open to suggestions as to censorship free and log free DNS services.
I've attempted to use mullvad but it appears my router doesn't like it and resolves nothing.

some Nordvpn US servers, andsome PIA us servers are spitting DNS errors for .hk. CA, GA, IL, TX, IA, MO, OK. Didnt check all of them.
PIA ATL, East, DC, Houston, Chicago, West Streaming, Stockholm, and Hong Kong all down. Montreal was working until moments ago, Vancouver seems to be working now.

I've been having connectivity and resolution issues for days on quad9

The nameservers for .hk are not returning the nameservers for kiwifarms.hk at all.

However the whois record is showing active with valid nameservers and no bad status that I can see.

Tranny fucky-wucky or just plain Internet fucky-wucky. We'll see.

yeah it was working yesterday. didnt start checking kf til 3-4 hours ago when i noticed nothing connected. My ISP and phone network connects fine.
Well and since getting through on Vancouver, I lost it. Then Ontario, then the Netherlands, and Brazil. Going through the DNS options didn't change anything. Connects fine without VPN/over mobile too. If there's my own settings I can use with PIA let me know. Alternatively are there less-shitty VPN providers still working? PIA has been disappointing on multiple fronts lately.
Edit: Friendship ended with PIA, Mullvad best friend now (and working great).

Perhaps unsuprising, but if you query the nameservers from the whois for kiwifarms.hk, you'll get the expected A records.

Same here. But trying to connect to hk with any other browser fails.

nslookup says its a non-existent domain.
the root .hk servers have dropped us, and are not returning the nameservers for our domain.
i would assume dong long gone got to them.
hopefully they gag on the girl dick and decide its not for them.

Weird shit happening for me too.
I see the Tech Grievance thread also flared up some.
To keep it short. I typically use Windscribe VPN on clearnet. Worked very well until suddenly site would either refuse to connect/show the banner for connection issues.
So after some digging, trying to change the DNS, disabling blocking and most of the VPN's features, it didn't do anything. Other parts of the web load fine, KF nope.
Disabling the VPN fixes things. Browsing from TOR, also.
I'd like some confirmation from others with Windscribe that the VPN blocks the site.
It's also likely Windscribe simply buys from somebody else and that larger entity blocked KF.

Looks like a DNS issue. Probably whatever DNS provider these VPNs use (same issue here with most of ProtonVPN nodes) blocked it, as the error is ''Unable to resolve target system name kiwifarms.hk.''
It appears that the issue is M247 Europe SRL (AS9009) or whatever provider it uses for DNS, as their IPs are the only ones affected. ProtonVPN has an option to switch to a custom DNS server, so that would be another solution if windscribe has that option as well.
