Feedback Technical Grievances

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
When I’m trying to edit an OP a few days ago, I keep getting an error that says “please enter a message with no more than 10 images.” I had more than 10 images in the OP before that and had no problems editing it beforehand.

Maybe they are testing removing the edit feature idk.

Were you adding with the media option? There was a limit of 10 of those in a post.

I was using the “Attach Files” option and, like I said before, the limit seemingly just sprang out of nowhere for me since I was able to save an OP with 40-50 images beforehand.

Weird I've never had that issue and I just edited an OP with more then 50 images.

I recently raised the limit.
If you mean that you tried to fix it, then I'm still getting the error.

Whenever I select text by dragging my cursor over the post instead of on the text, it doesn't give me an option to quote.

I am fed up with Invidious embed not working on Onion link. I mostly use Tor so this sucks.

Using the "Attach files" button works fine to upload a 208 MiB .ZIP file but when you click the "Post Reply" button the post does not have the attachment. Searching this thread just turned up a lot from 2023 but not much from this year.
Is it a filesize issue?

Attaching a 2 MiB .ZIP works fine. 96 MiB ZIP and 72 MiB ZIP do not work though.

Probably the most benign issue to date but still a little upsetting - gifs with transparency flicker randomly at the top & bottom when used as avatars in thumbnails, as visible below. The bits that flicker are the ones which do not have any pixels moving. I'll try and see if resizing to 144x144 which I believe are the default avatar dimensions fixes it.

edit: no cigar. Shit's flickering even at native 144x144. :stress:
edit 2: tried a different resizing method and it seems to be gone, however I'm just noticing that the transparency has a different color from the profile info section. Simple, if inelegant fix. Gonna look like ass on light mode, but who the fuck uses light mode?

Theory based purely on experience of my own: ImageMagick is at fault.
I am unsure if Xenforo uses ImageMagick for its images, but I've had the same fault with using ImageMagick through PHP.

I have tried uploading a video to the Virgo Rouge thread three times. It's 54mb in size, and the third time I gave a shortened rename. The errormsg instructs me to try again OR contact an administrator.

I have now done both.

I think it's incorrectly displaying a certain type of GIF. It's the type that attempts to reduce filesize by only including changes per-frame instead of saving each entire frame.
