Feedback Technical Grievances

If I enable HTTPS, you will receive a full page warning that the certificate is invalid, the site is compromised, and you should not proceed, which can only be circumvented by unhiding a box that allows you to bypass it and then clicking a button that says "I UNDERSTAND THE RISKS".

Alternatively, "(INSECURE) HTTP://" in the URL bar.

THERE ARE NO HTTPS CERTIFICATES FOR .ONION URLS. THE CERTIFICATE IS THE KEY USED TO PLUG IN TO THE ONION ROUTING WITH THAT URL.

Also literally pointless, because it'd just be adding an extra layer of encryption underneath encryption.

If the encryption's any good, adding another layer doesn't help, it just wastes CPU (both the user's and the server's) for no good reason.

It looks like I can’t make changes to my Account Settings without entering a referral code.

lol really? this shit's so fucking busted man

Yeah, it almost looks like it’s using the same template (and similar routing?) as the sign up form.

Have you tried putting anything in the required field just to see if you actually need a valid invitation code?

In the “who referred you” section, you can put whatever you want and it will show up as if that person referred you.

I just put something random in there and it worked. Fascinating.

this is probably not a new suggestion but i think it would be beneficial to create a "max size" for images in forum posts that way the inevitable too-big-for-eyeballs mobile photo issue or.....for plebs on tiny screens in general....would be completely circumvented. since the images adjust size based on screen/window size, i feel like implementing a maximum size before being thumbnailed automatically would help both users and mods.

I've been having issues with posting from mobile apps, in particular Google IOS. You may need to get this looked at so people can get back to shitposting and updating on the go.

Oops! We ran into some problems.
The upload failed because the file could not be written to the server. The site administrator will need to resolve this before any files can be uploaded.

This is just for a picture so I suppose we need to wait for the big dawg to fix it.

Getting similar error, but only when trying to upload videos

I also can not upload videos or images anymore.
With a video I attach. It starts uploading. Gets to 3% then the progress bar vanishes and nothing happens.
With an image the status bar flys to 100% then vanishes and nothing happens.
I am using latest TOR browser with the KF .onion
