Feedback Technical Grievances

Give me clocks or puzzle pieces if I deserve them, but why is it that on certain threads, certain posts will not have the "reply" or "quote" options under them, just the "like" button? It happens every once in a while, definitely not common, I haven't seen a pattern in it (maybe the posts I can't reply to are on average longer than typical 2 sentence comments, but length doesn't seem to be a guarantee).

Anyone know? :thinking:

It is length. Posts that appear to be outliers probably have a collapsed quote with a bunch of text inside of it (all of which counts).

Josh doesn't like it when people quote an entire post just to add a bit of text at the bottom (even though XenForo mitigates this somewhat by collapsing long quotes under a "click to read more" box thingie) so to avoid that annoyance he decided to annoy his users by making it impossible to quote longer posts, as Kosher Salt said. Josh is always looking out for us.

At the end of the day, we're basically an army of monkeys with typewriters. I wouldn't trust us. I mean, I wouldn't trust the rest of you. I think I'm pretty okay though.

It isn't impossible, it just takes a bit of work.
 
I can't upload an avatar. I've tried a couple of different browsers but I still get errors. How else am I supposed to show off my autism in gif form?

I remember uploading gif avatars was really challenging at one point and required getting bellow a certain frame/animation size. The one I'm using right now was going to have other stuff in it but I shrank it to the smallest amount possible.

Oh? Where is it, so that I can copystrike them for stealing my idea. Kidding of course. I'm not surprised, it seemed pretty obvious. I wasn't aware that there was an unofficial "official" userscript for it though.
 
I just wanted to post to say I can't for whatever reason react to any post anymore I usually just read threads and react to them but when I logged in again recently the function is off so I don't know why I can't now. Is there any solution for this thanks for any help.

Minor complaint. The movie night banner's clickable area covers up the first entry in the happenings section and makes it very difficult to select the happening. At least on mobile.
 
Nothing important. The cloudflare error page on the kiwifarms.is site (and I'm guessing the other ones) is not the updated one from the .net site.
 
I had to use a VPN from another country to access the site. My usual zero security connection gets the error message from April 1.
 
Its small, but its worth a heads-up: Stealth theme still has the Path.net alert on top.

I have the opposite of a grievance. Suddenly videos buffer and download properly from the site, thank fucking god. Now if only more people would compress them properly.
 
How come I can't upload images saved from here to other platforms or open them in photoshop without first opening them in mspaint and re-saving them?

They claim to be normal files but they have some sort of mac gobbldegook glued on to them: "heic"
