Feedback Technical Grievances

Got a shitton of 503's and 2's before from resty though that may be from being a pacific faggot, seems to be working now so bad luck on that gateway I guess

The Christmas kiwi farms logo at the top of the page is much larger than usual on the mobile site and exceeds the header boundaries.
I doubt it is of much relevance in this specific case but this is on Safari, iOS 16.2b3.

Jersh you did an amazing job with the forum. Just weeks ago we were either down for days, stuck to .onion, with endless failed loads of the site and Haltdos error screens.
I wasn't wrong when I said you're a one man army, even though I am sure you had some help too.
People complain a lot, but when such an outstanding job is performed, people should also thank you.
Hats off.

I've noticed that when choosing to post images as a thumbnail or full image after embedding them, if you click 'full image' the image doesn't appear in the posting box, giving the impression that the button is broken, but then does appear when you actually make the post.

What's going on with the site currently? Got a database error, then a 500 error, and now getting intermittent 502's. More Troonery at work?

DDOS attack underway, the Telegram is getting hit really hard with spambots from the WhatsApp leak.

I saw all those Russian names flooding the chat. It’s a pretty far cry from the glory days of news coverage, funding and having entire tech platforms at their beck and call. I guess it makes their lives more bearable.

500 is an internal server error, a catch all for if something on the server itself went wonky (like broken or buggy code).
502 is a bad gateway, that means you're connecting to a proxy of some kind (gateway) and it encountered some error while trying to send or receive information to/from whatever server it's a gateway to.

I guess (speaking under correction) the 502 could be a DDoS issue. If I recall kiwifarms is currently being load balanced across multiple servers, if the DDoS was targeting the actual servers and not the load balancer then you'd still connect to the load balancer but it wouldn't be able to get data from the actual servers and could then throw a 502.

The green dots are a little off placed when I view the forum from mobile, but that aside I don't have that much to report
also, I'm kinda glad I could make an account last year, wish I didn't waited this much before saying that I forgot my password

may i suggest to place them below the thread's creator icon?

I'm not sure if this belongs here or TTS but I can't edit my account details at all without giving an "invitation code". I think it might be an incorrectly named "enter your password to prove it's you before editing" field.

EDIT: thanks guys

Other users have reported that typing anything into that field should bypass it.

Just put in anything, it doesn't matter.

Doing a quick test, will edit in a minute
Was getting the "Oops we ran into some problems" toast/dropdown when posting a reply through the onion link
( http://kiwifarmsaaf4t2h7gc3dfc5ojhmqruw2nit3uejrpiagrxeuxiyxcyd.onion/ ) and the console was showing a block of 403s that seemed to indicate that something was failing the bot check. Like an idiot I didn't paste the error block into a text file, and so far I haven't been able to make it happen again. Everything seems to work fine through the clearnet site, even when using tor/Brave with tor.

Looks like we're all posting from the future on my end all times are showing up as later_today_at_x on both orange spooky and Christmas 2021 dark. I'm using Brave on .net

for some reason there is a nonexistant user that reacted to past comments on my profile. They don't exist if you try to click on who reacted, and if I react again to the post it goes away. But also there is one post with both my reaction and the "x" reaction. I just clicked again on it and both reactions went away. Some of the "x" posts I liked previously and are no longer there, but I don't know how there was both a like and a thunk provoking on that one
This is obviously a bug that's a non issue compared to others, but I found it interesting. I noticed this first a few months ago, but noticed it again and figured I'd report it.

I randomly refreshed with crtl+F5 and it worked. I can see times again.
