Feedback Technical Grievances

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Site will load on Protons Netherlands VPNs and then randomly will get some weird error message (only occasionally holtdos). It's like it's going down the list of the VPNs. Tor and phone are working fine for now.

Edit: Barely able to post, hardly able to edit (hopefully this one works). VPNs haven't changed, I'm just cycling through them since Tor is giving me 403 error codes now and I can read the site but can't post anything on it from my phone for some reason.

Came back from a day of merriment thinking that surely Christmas time would be calm for the Kiwifarms but apparently some decided that internet butt fucking was the best way to enjoy the holiday cheer. I, as others have mentioned, am experiencing the clearnet haltdos "suspicious request; get blocked lol" error page. The Tor link works of course but I do also get access to the .net site over Tor as well.

However after looking back a couple of pages I'm not really sure why this is happening. From my quick and slightly intoxicated understanding, haltdos is some kind of security company meant for protecting against DDoS attacks and the likes. Null mentioned that the site was under a heavy attack right now but why is hatldos blocking so many people on the clearnet? Is that just the price of keeping the site running? Or this another case of rogue people at companies abusing their power to be annoying thorns?

Other than that thank god for Tor and I hope that everyone has been having a good holiday season with bellies full of good food, warm abodes and some kind of companion, whether human, animal, spirit, etc, to share the festive attitudes with.

Without TOR I get blocked from the website by HaltDOS. The reference ID changes every time I try to connect.

Haltdos is a product Josh has purchased and runs on his servers to protect the farms. Since he is somewhat unavailable due to the holidays I believe he said somewhere he has it set more aggressively than usual and we're seeing those false positives since he's not able to do the real time tuning he usually does when the site is under attack. So, VPNs TOR endpoints and random other things are just going to fail now and then for a while.

Although I can see the site on the clearnet, formatting is completely fucked so every page looks like the HTML equivalent of a drunken tranny who has just done his make-up in front of a dirty mirror. Eyeshadow and lipstick are smeared all over the place at random.

And it won't let me post at all.

On Tor though, everything looks fine. And if this goes up, then posting works here as well.

This is extremely useful to know and makes me feel alot better about the current clearnet downtime so thank you. Since cloudfare set such a cosmic levels of an awful example I'm always worried that more companies will follow the goosestep and shit on Null just because. I honestly would take Tor posting any day over nothing at all, and I'm happy to know that not being able to access the site on clearnet is due to Null's end rather than anyone else.

I only hope now that disturbed degenerates stop trying to disrupt the site for benign and dull reasons while wasting one of the most wonderful times of the year.

I'm not sure if you would know, but is this something that could pertain to normal usage of Brave with no VPN? Because I was getting the error on Brave, then it worked with Mullvad on initially, but when I disconnected and reconnected Mullvad, it went back to giving me the Haltdos error.
Edit: I'm guessing it's pretty much just everything on clearnet because of the DDoS attacks. Nvm

I guess LFJ and Special Exceptional K got their christmas bonuses and decided to throw that extra cash into the DDoS machine. Pathetic, if true.

Was having issues with HaltDos even when continuously switching between connections in my VPN, but clearing the cache fixed that almost completely. Give it a try if you're having the same problems. Thank you Null for informing tech illiterates like me.

Just wanted to report that on desktop the page loads faster now than in the last month. On mobile the page looks broken when you open a thread.

Update: idk what changed but now it works fine on mobile for me. It loads so much faster than before. It always took 5s at least to load over the last months. Idk what changed but this is so much better now.

Everything appears fixed on clearnet this morning.
i'm actually getting messed up formatting ONLY when i log in, it is currently happening. i made a thread in the Q&A section (sorry, i didn't know about the existence of this thread until i posted in telegram RIP) and it happens in 2 different browsers. apparently other people are still having the same issues as me. thread is here
kf2.jpg

ETA: well it appears to be working normally now, however i wasn't able to edit this post on clearnet. guess if it goes through on TOR, must be some kind of intermittent issue related to the DDOS. /shrug

I'm not able to access the tor website on the mobile with the following error message:

I'm fine on the clearnet website, and tor on my PC.

I'm getting flatout "page can't be loaded" on clearnet. Courageous nonclearnet loads just fine however. That's weird.

Same problem it seems to have stabilized now though.

Back to being blackholed on my home connection, same traceroute as before so I won't resend it, AT&T mobile still good. Clearnet TOR nice and speedy, in-state VPN works but slow (speedtest is good with VPN connection, hits my full connection speed)

I thought the site was down but it was actually Mullvad's fault: the wireguard servers won't let me access kiwifarms. I'll end up on the "page could not be loaded" site. I switched to a server that is not by wireguard and I can access the farms perfectly fine. Should I write wireguard? What can be done?

Write mullvad.

(Wireguard is just a protocol, and zx2c4, who developed it, is a very nice person who wouldn't ban anyone.)
